Just networking a couple of dogs

Just networking a couple of dogs that we've had for MONTHS. Sophie - APBT, 41lbs originally came from a dog fighting bust as a puppy. Buckskin, black mask. Really soft, sweet, super people friendly. Excellent therapy dog candidate. Already passed her CGC. Housebroken, crate trained. If she stays lon...

Re: They don't get it

I hope they didn't pay her to come in and talk to you guys. I do think there are some resources out there for those in sheltering professions (too bad she wasn't one of them).

Re: Meet Tessa - Tampa Bay Florida

She may or may not be a mix, most people assume tricolors/tan pointed are mixed with dobie or rottie but there are tricolor/tan pointed in pit bulls. Both parents must carry the tricolor/tan point gene (whether expressed or not) to produce tricolor pups. Believe it or not, labs can produce black and...

Re: Universal Pet Peeves

When some ill behaved wild ass dog runs up to you off leash, no collar with some moron semi apologetic owner 5 minutes behind explaining that "she's a rescue" with big sad eyes. I always reply, so is mine as he lays in a down stay and ask, have you considered a training class for the both ...

Re: Sam - another great dog

He's about 17" at the shoulder so he's pretty small, he's fat right now so I'm trying to get some weight off. His idea weight (not what he currently weighs) is about 40-42 lbs. His owner let him get seriously obese. He's being a pretty good sport about being on a diet.

here's another one of his gait. All of that's gone now but he is a little bit fat and lazy so there's not a whole lot of running going on now. He mostly stands around grazing on grass or laying down in the shade.

Sam - another great dog

Sam is another great dog, he's living in Va with me. Dog friendly, cat friendly, super people friendly. His only fault is that he's a little bit stupid. http://ascpbr.org/Sam.html http://ascpbr.org/Sam_files/shapeimage_3.png Sam needs a home with other dogs. He's content with bottom of the pack as l...

Re: Betsy

She's being fostered by a friend in Raleigh NC. I'll ask around and see if there are any Therapy groups there that might be interested. I have found though that a lot of people looking for therapy dogs steer clear of this breed or want to start with a puppy.

Re: Betsy

I don't know, she's just eastern NC pit bull. I was under the impression that she came from a backyard breeder who dumped two sick puppies at the shelter. Assumed he sold the rest or they died. They were full of hook worms and coccidia and were pretty runty. She is just small and rangy around 40 lbs...

Re: Betsy

Betsy is absolutely first time dog owner material. My only concern with that would be that if someone got her and then thought all pit bulls were this easy....they might run into trouble. Betsy is super easy. 5 minutes with a laser pointer out in the yard and she's beat and ready for bed. We don't h...

Betsy

Trying to figure out how to market this dog for adoption. She was adopted out as a puppy, and now returned to us as a 4 year old dog. The family had children, and as soon as they were mobile, they started treating the dogs roughly. The other dog in the home began to display some aggression towards t...

My new foster dog

This is my new foster dog Frances, she's a nice pup about 8 months or so. She's got a great people disposition, mostly good with other pets (dogs/cats). I say mostly because she's not really learned her manners and will try to take things from the other dogs and get a little "terrier" when...

Re: Free Kittens wilson nc

humane death is better than starving, dying of disease, being hit by a car or fed to a snake. Lots of terrible things happen to "free" pets that people don't really care about or want to spend money to help get healthy. If you don't want to do what's right and get them to a vet, take them ...
