Re: Pet Insurance

I forgot to update, about 3 months after my rate was raised I received a letter stating that it was a mistake and they refunded me the difference.

I am really, really pleased with HealthyPaws!

Re: Bump?

Thanks guys! PITtsburgher, that is *exactly* how the vet explained it over the phone. I was only able to come up with the scary intestine thing on Google, though. Thank you Allison for the reassurance and doing all that research for me! I am having a phone consultation (and possible office visit) wi...

Bump?

For about 3 weeks Apollo has had a strange black-ish/red bump, about the size of a pinhead on his back. It bursts and bleeds a little, then forms a round ball and repeats. I went to the vet today but due to my sporadic school schedule I was not able to get my regular vet. Yesterday the little ball w...

Coats and PJs......

So during the winter Apollo wears either a coat or his PJ's pretty much 24/7. He is a heat seeker, he sleeps under the covers and will inhabit any patch of sunshine he can find (like today he jump up and sat on the coffee table to catch a tiny patch of sun). It was 65 degrees F inside today and Apol...

Re: Questions about ACE and other Meds for my Foster

Thank you for the replies everyone! I decided not to use ACE and so far have not needed it. I don't know her heritage and I have managed to keep her calm by keeping her in an x-pen with lots of WTE toys and keeping someone nearby for company. She weights 14 lbs misskiwi, for future reference, is it ...

Questions about ACE and other Meds for my Foster

Mera (my foster) was spayed today at a clinic I have never been to. The shelter I am fostering her for does not pay for pain killers so I bought them myself (after okaying it with the shelter). And I wanted to check and see if some of what they prescribed is normal for this situation. She has- Acepr...

Re: Skylar Irie

The one thing stopping Miami AC from taking the dog away, is that there is no standard or real registry for Service Dog Certification, there are no actual requirements to say that a dog Is a service dog besides the basic principles that a dog must act and conform to in a social setting. Also, there...

I fed Blue Wilderness and liked it. Cost and limited availability drove me to another brand.

Thank you for posting this!

An ACL rupture is something I really worry about and it is wonderful to have information from someone who is going through it, all in one spot.

Re: Pet Insurance

I got my reimbursement in the mail today, after the deductible (which I regret not making lower) I got $17.98.

I was happy with the turn around time and when I double checked, they covered things I didn't think they would.

Overall, I am pretty happy!

Re: Pet Insurance

Hmmm, I filed a claim with Healthy Paws and a few days later received an email that they are raising my rates about $4 a month. It isn't a big deal but I don't like feeling as if it was the claim that caused the price hike.
