No, the first vet was an emergency overnight clinic(I think they just rape people anyways). The second vet is my old vet a few hours away. They are great and are much more worried about the animals than the money. When should I know she is in the clear? She's just starting on day five from first ons...

Aly is still doing good. She's acting almost like her old self but she's lost a little bit of weight. I'm assuming that's normal but I'm afraid to feed her more than I already am. I talked to my vet yesterday and they said just to keep it simple and bland. She gets four or five small meals a day of ...

Just letting everyone know that Aly is still doing great. She's been holding down chicken broth without a problem and is also staying hydrated without my help. She really wants to play but I'm afraid that tiring out will hurt her. I'm just going to stick with the chicken broth and pedialyte for now ...

I got the liquid form at Walgreens for 64.99. It came in a 25ml bottle that has to be keep in the fridge. You can get the pills but you have to reconstitute it and it's more expensive anyways. I think it's around $110.00

Correction on the dosage... I don't know my math today. I'm giving her 2.5 ml and she weighs 15 lbs... so a little over 1.5 ml per ten pounds

Just wanted to give an update on how Aly is doing, and thanks everyone for the help. I started her on the Tamiflu last night(1/2 ml per five lbs for anyone wanting to know the dosage). I gave her sub-q fluids twice last night even though she was pretty hydrated anyways. I gave her another dose of Ta...

I've got her on Pedialyte right now, and she's acting okay, but she doesn't want to play or anything. I stopped feeding her. I got ahold of my uncle who is a docter and he's going to write me a prescription so I can pick some up. Long story short.... we adopted a puppy from the pound a couple of mon...

Tamiflu in the Dallas area

My husband brought home a puppy a couple of weeks ago and about an hour ago she started to show the symptoms of parvo(I've had a few dogs that have had it). I called my overnight vet clinic but they won't prescribe Tamiflu because they say it doesn't work!! Does anyone in the DFW area(hopefully Arli...

Holly Berries

Okay, I know that Holly berries are poisonous to dogs. Well, a friend of mine had just bought her house and it had a holly bush in the back yard. She never figured the dogs would go by it or mess with it, but one of her dogs ended up eating several and got really sick. The vet put him on a soft food...

No kelp whatsoever. Just chicken, beef, fish, fruits and veggies and yogurt.

No longer a White Boy?

As anyone can tell from my avatar, Chico is my white boy. He's solid white(of which is not why I bought him)... or he used to be. For some reason, I've noticed that his coat is turning a cream-ish color instead. And it's not because he's dirty or that his coat is just stained, but actual permanant c...

Come to find out, a surgery for an obstruction runs about $1000. I took him in earlier today, had x-rays taken and we just couldn't figure out what the heck he'd eaten. It was round-ish and looked to be in the stomach. Well, I racked up $200 at my own vet(for x-rays and several injections. Aztec Pet...

Throwing up... (Sorry long)

I went out of town for the weekend, and since my roomates were out of town as well, I asked the guy who was coming over to check on their dogs(long story) to do the same for my two. He said no problem, and I told him just to let them out occasionally and told him how much to feed the dogs(raw chicke...
