If I can find one for $15/kg I'm thrilled

Re: BARF/Raw Feeders Please Reply

I only found one RAW Yahoo group, called RAW-Lite. I know there are others, what are the names of some of the other ones? I must be searching for the wrong thing- though you'd think typing in "RAW dog food" would get it done :dunno: Also, how much would be considered reasonable prices? I'...

Re: New rescued brat with severe skin issues

Off topic: Vets here nearly ran away from me in terror when I mentioned (heck, I showed them!) the chloramphenicol tabs...supposedly can/has caused deaths in humans? They asked if I was advised to use gloves when handling it (I wasn't), but...I laughed...They didn't..... Anyways! That's the first vo...

Re: B.A.R.F. 101

I guess I need to buy a book. I read where some people just feed raw chickens, raw meaty bones, some people talking about grinding everything up, people adding veggies, people not adding veggies, adding Kelp. Seems like so many people do so many different things. I'm going to order the "Give y...

Update: New rescued brat with severe skin issues

:crybaby: :crybaby: Ok... Biopsy came in (pretty quickly, considering it was just taken on the 13th) Results: No mites. Just bacterial infection (this was a "duh" moment). Unknown underlying cause, presumed hard-to-diagnose allergies... They recommended to minimize "self-trauma" ...

Re: considering...

:goodpost: afrikaPB   Just to comment specifically about dog parks though: I'd personally be hesitant to go to them, anymore, with any breed of dog. I used to, pre-BSL here, when Jasper was a pup, and before PBF :) Even without the knowledge I learned on here, I did see the dange...

Re: Sore throat remedies?

Honey definitely will assist. I've managed to quickly 'heal' mild KC cases with honey, and garlic powder (minimal of course).

I don't know about doing it in water, maybe just add to food, or perhaps yogurt?

Re: More on Jasper...

The surgeon/specialist that had previously seen Jazzy (last year rather, when it first occurred) said that he is against knee braces, especially in pit bulls (?) He said he doesn't think Jasper's knee is any worse off (that the clicking isn't significant of much, that perhaps the meniscus is damaged...

Re: New rescued brat with severe skin issues

Instead of starting another thread, thought I'd just update this one. Goofy Haplo's feet seem to just be at an impass. Not getting better, but not getting worse. As a second-to-last resort, after he was done the antibiotics, I opted to try the Vanectyl-P... I thought I saw an improvement for the few...

Re: what do you do to keep healthy teeth?

BA - were you feeding those big soup bone kinda bones? Another thing I forgot to add in original post is you don't want to use any weight-bearing bones (of bigger animals), as those ARE hard on the teeth, they do wear them down and could even chip them. It's the easy-to-bite-into kinda bones that a...

Re: Is RAW low-residue?

Cats are considered obligate carnivores...veggies would rather not have much of a purpose, or benefit, especially when feeding raw.... With dogs, it's a different story... I have never had my cats' poop be hard when on raw. Dogs, yes, but that's when I over-did the bone...(as I occasionally used knu...
