Re: Need some advice in raising a pit bull puppy

If your dog feels terrorized by the fact that there's strange noises in the house caused by another animal then you need to seek a behaviorist and talk to your vet about calming solutions. One thing you can get is DAP from online and spray his bedding or buy the plugin version and put them around th...

Re: confused about rice and potatoes.

Fact is your dog is having digestive issues and you ARE going to have to limit your lifestyle until the problem is ironed out. You wouldn't do spontaneous road trips with a infant who's suffering from colic, would you? Your dog needs stability so you can figure out what's going on. I also suggest tr...

Re: Dog poops way too much

She weighs exactly 67.4 pounds. Her body condition is very good. Good muscle tone, nice tuck, last rib shows and other ribs can be felt clearly but aren't completely visible unless she's panting hard. She's a very bully dog, both wide and naturally muscular. We run up to 4 miles a day, play fetch ma...

Re: Dog poops way too much

I specifically asked about If all of that checked out, I'd follow up with a TLI, Cobalamin and Folate through Michigan State lab. and they said no, they hadn't done it. We're going to do that and see if we can position her for a radio-graph without sedation or something very mild. Her appointment is...

Re: Dog poops way too much

Boy am I tired. I missed some questions. I've had her for almost a year. She eats 2.5 to 3 cups a day, depending on how hungry she is. Sometimes she'll leave some in the bowl. She eats twice a day with a snack in the middle on weekends and that's taken out of her dinner feeding.

Re: Dog poops way too much

She's had all the worm tests done, including checking for giardia and coccidia and was treated for round worms when I first brought her home. Her fecal floats are normal, now. A blood panel was done, and her thyroid was checked (we were trying to find the cause of her rashes, turns out it's a grass ...

Dog poops way too much

When I got my dog I used her pound food (Science Diet) to transition her over to my food. She was constantly pooping. The first movement of the day would be solid, the second would be softer, and on and on until it was literally dripping out like liquid. I had her on Victor for a while and she kept ...

Re: Victor Dog Food

Where I'm buying my bags the only GF formula is the glucosamine one. I'll stick to what I've been getting since it's making my dog look great and I'll look around for any G/C supplements I can give her.

Re: Victor Dog Food

I'm really digging this dog food! Her poops are tiny and hard (but not constipated), her doggy breath is completely gone without anything extra done, and she's eating less of this food than she was of her other.

Re: Dog Food

I just started my dog on Kirkland since I can buy it cheaper than Diamond Naturals chicken and rice. I like it a lot. There were some recalls a year ago but I've not seen any of the business I've bought dog food from affected by them so I'm not worried.

Re: Plop, plop, poop

I really have no idea why it works, just that it has for me and a few different dogs. Maybe 4 or 5 dogs, so not a large amount but I trust it! I've heard that boiling the hamburger can make it easier to digest for the dog if he has issues with beef, but I don't have any experience with it.

Re: Plop, plop, poop

Have you tried cooked hamburger? I've given it to dogs who have stomach issues and it 'dries' them right up to the point of being constipated (if you give them too much). I just mix in about 7 ounces for a 50 pound dog per feeding with the regular kibble, and then add some water until it's all float...
