Re: Stopped crate training at 3 1/2 months.

Idk i feel like Ive won the lottery because my puppy has never chewed my furniture or wires=. He does take my sandals, lol but thats about it. The thing is, hes never alone. My grandmother is there to play with him and supervise so thats probably why hes never 'lashed out' Regardless i think you guys...

Re: Stopped crate training at 3 1/2 months.

That's up to you. I think it's important to crate train a dog as you'll never know when you NEED to put your dog in a crate. And I'd prefer them to be comfortable with that. And just know, most 4 month olds are not 100% reliable. So you can't be upset if you come home and there's an accident. your ...

Stopped crate training at 3 1/2 months.

Hey everyone, my 4 month pit mix has not had an accident in the house for a month!! :headbang: 2 weeks ago i decided not to leave him in the crate anymore so he either sleeps on the couch downstairs or in my room with the crate open.

Does this mean I'm done crate training him?

Re: Im leaving a great pup with unreliable person (Need Hel

Absolutely don't leave him outside! Not only is it not good for him, but it may cause him to regress in his potty-training because he can go whenever he wants outside. Crating him shouldn't be that bad if you make sure he has adequate exercise and attention when you are home. yes thats true :/... d...

Re: Im leaving a great pup with unreliable person (Need Hel

This is your puppy and your responsibility, not your grandmothers. Period. A 9 week old puppy is not going to be even close to fully house trained, no matter who is watching them. They're babies. Get yourself a dog crate, and crate the puppy when you cannot watch him. Leaving a 9 week old puppy out...

Im leaving a great pup with unreliable person (Need Help)

Hey so today is the last day of spring break. Ive had my pup for 11 days (9week old) now and hes only peed in the house twice in 4 days and was immediately corrected those times.. He even signaled to me today that he had to go out by whimpering and scratching the door!. Hes responding to sit command...

Kong Toys

These toys are the freaking best in the world. Im using a small rubber bone and stuffing "lil smokeys" wieners at each end of it and Watson was loving it. He usually whines at bed time when i put him in the crate to go to bed, and i have tried to give him pig ears and other chew toys to ke...

Re: New Puppy Watson. Pit or american bulldog?

How old is he? You said after 7 hours of sleep you let him out, but I might cut that in half until he's a little older. Puppies have small bladders, but then again I'm not sure how old your pup is. LOL well my guys only 9 weeks old and i dont hear a peep out of him till the morning. Do u think i sh...

Re: New Puppy Watson. Pit or american bulldog?

Looks like a pitbull to me... unless he's papered, you'll never know... & he's not used to the crate... So, get used to the crying until he gets used to the crate. When our dog was crate training I had his crate right next to our bed. He did whine some, but I think he felt better knowing we wer...
