My dog needs surgery

Hey everyone. I haven't been on here in a long time and wasn't too involved when I was coming here. But I have a request. You can read about the story of what happened, what's needed, and see lots of pics and some videos (proving her injury) of my rescued Pit Bull mix. Basically, she messed herself ...

Re: Dog Body Language

Thanks for the replies. Yet another thing I want to concentrate more on with this dog, but found the post to be overwhelming and not the type of information I would retain very easily. So something else on top of it will be helpful, I'm going to look at all these things now :)

Dog Body Language

I am currently reading the post on dog body language but was wondering if there is a site or book that includes more detailed photos, and includes info about dog to person contact, as my dog is not usually around other dogs....very, very rarely (not on purpose=neighbor, pet store, etc). I learn thro...

Mimi's face hair missing?

So we know that when she was picked up as a stray she had was described as "bubbles" on her nose. When we first got her that area was red, but it is now normal color. But it is still missing hair. She is also missing hair sound the front of her lips. Is there a way to correct this?

Re: West Paw & Tuff Balls

I think that's the pulp, not the gum showing pink through the teeth? I saw you said you plan to get something done to them? They look like they'd be sensitive? We are having them extracted. 2 of her vets have said she should have it done with her dental exam, about Jan. 2012 or so. But we want to d...

Re: West Paw & Tuff Balls

Ouch. Are the bottom ones impacted? I would limit any toy that is like a tennis ball. Just as a precautionary measure. You can try the other Kongs, the black ones, the blue ones, the rubber Frisbee, I have used Orca toys in the past, but just monitor her if you get those, Dot shredded one, but she ...

Re: Sweet Steel Magnolia - still looking

Unfortunately, I guess they want to change the rules around here again from upping the pet deposit to making sure it's only 1 pet per household. :( But if for some reason she absolutely is having no luck over there, I can definitely see about getting her over here with one of our fosters in our resc...

Re: West Paw & Tuff Balls

sorry was trying to type and talk to my husband at the same time. Kong stuff is great, they make a Kong (the original kind) with a squeaky in it. I will see if I can find a link, she may like that. Thats the one she tore apart. Which is why the next one will have to be the bigger black ones whether...

Re: West Paw & Tuff Balls

Well, to be honest with you...those Rubber pieces can cause a blockage. And the tennis like coating, will continue to rub her teeth down. I will have to snap pics of Sky's teeth. She is much older than your dog, however from years of being a tennis ball freak, they have worn down greatly. That and ...

Re: West Paw & Tuff Balls

See, and my dogs can't have antlers because Tess eats them. They don't last more than 15 minutes, and the chunks she swallows are scary big. I know exactly what you mean, we've witnessed this with our dogs-but with other bones. It doesn't happen with the antlerz. They do break off pieces, but they'...

Re: West Paw & Tuff Balls

I have a green good Cuz toy that I bring to the Humane Society for the dogs I take out to play with. We have a lot of Pit bulls and Pit bull mixes and it has held up very well to their abuse(and they play pretty rough with toys!). I have had it for almost 3 months now and it still squeaks! Brian, a...

Re: West Paw & Tuff Balls

You do know Antlers fall off deer yearly and have nothing to do with cutting or "unnatural" events... right? :huh?: Many, many animals are killed to produce products for our pets so I try to keep what I have in my house to a minimum unless it's better for my dog. I didnt make a comment on...

Re: West Paw & Tuff Balls

Although it would be nice to find something that she is interested in chewing on that isnt an animal part, and wont harm her front teeth....and didnt leave evidence for me to pick up, lol :crybaby: But oh well I guess. http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd445/VogueVulture/049.jpg Where the squeaker...
