Re: Teaching toddler how to behave with the pibble?

Ha, I forgot. We were both terrified of what would happen if the kid would reach for the dog's food. Nothing happens. I mean the dog is not reacting, he just leaves. I try hiding the food and water bowls everywhere but generally if the child cannot reach them then the dog cannot reach either. My kid...

Re: Teaching toddler how to behave with the pibble?

thank you for the links. I did not know of any of them. I'll start reading right away :) Good idea with tickle, we have a word in romanian for caressing / patting, "mai-mai", pronounced sort of "may-may". I try that with the kid he goes "mai-mai" for a while but then hi...

Teaching toddler how to behave with the pibble?

Hello My kid is now 15 months old. Him and Ayax are doing great togheter. Kind of. The dog is an angel. Tolerates like a saint, lies down so that my son can sustain his balance, and is also a great cleaneup help when my little guy is eating. But the little bugger my adored son, is so annoying lol. W...

What would you change?

What do you consider to be your biggest mistakes in training your dog, if you had any? What would you change if you could / will retrain your dog, or perhaps in future, for the next dog? For me: - I have not socialized properly my dog with other animals too, not just humans, and his prey-drive and d...

Re: Winter dog clothes issue

Got some boots. He hates them :( Tries to get them off constantly, is tripping in them and has a "I hate this thing" look on his face. Not quite sure what to do, I checked to see if they are too tight or maybe uncomfortable in any way...they seem pretty comfy to me. He's just not used of h...

Re: What words does your dog "understand"?

Honestly I started this thread out of pure curiosity and for some relaxing fun, but reading it again I realize it's a great way to encourage any owner to keep up with the training. Including me. I underestimated my dog a lot, however now that I read again my own list and yours, I realize that if he ...

Re: What words does your dog "understand"?

Re-reading your lists I realized Ayax knows as well "all gone" (when I show empty hands or pocket or plate), hungry, thirsty, water.

He also knows the difference between "let's go out " and "get out"

What words does your dog "understand"?

Just to get this straight, I am not a lunatic who believes my dog is just like a furry human being lacking verbal communication. However I did notice that aside from basic commands the dogs tend to simply learn and understand the meaning of certain words and actions related to them. Make a list if y...

Re: Winter dog clothes issue

Hello!

One of Hurtta's retailers in Bulgaria accepts Visa and shipping is not that expensive :)

So Ayax will get a winter coat in 2 weeks more or less (after salary day)

Re: Winter dog clothes issue

Oh thank you. I have a Visa Card and a Master Card. I used these cards to do internet shopping in the country but all I ever bought from overseas was...paying my World of Warcraft bill, I never actually bought a physical object yet. I hope it works though. The website you showed me is great and i fo...

Winter dog clothes issue

Hi I am having huge issues with finding a coat for my dog that does not look like spiderpig or superman's cloak or Miss Doubtfire's poodle wedding dress. Winter is coming and it can be very harsh in Romania. My dog shivers his old bones on the morning and night walks. I JUST want to find a medium si...

Re: Biking issues

I forgot to mention that we replaced his collar with a harness.
He makes sudden "I dont wanna" stops and we dont want to strangle him or something.

Here is the leash:

Re: Biking issues

Quite late update: I bought a biking leash. It does not attach to the wheel, but under the saddle somehow. Has a metal part, covered with a soft protective material, and a mobile part, 2 leashes 1 elastic 1 rigid. The rash came back :( But luckily this time we were quicker in reaction and we started...
