Re: PA: Needs a FLYBALL home for this girl! (Staffie type mi

Haven't seen her on facebook except for the volunteers that know her. She was shared on Stafford Rescue USA's page - they are sending someone down on Thursday to see her. Marisa, the trainer that was working with her, visited her yesterday. Apparently she's now missing part of her ear :( What? What...

Re: 4 month puppy causing trouble ?

Always use a leash when off your confined, fenced private property. If there is no fence, always use a leash, period. I'd ditch the tug and use treats if it were me and my choice. Your pup is a toddler. Toddlers have short attention spans and a need to curiously explore their world. There is no magi...

Re: Happy Tail

Oh man, Amie. I logged in to read the depressing posts I knew were coming down the pipe, and came across this thread. I had to skip ahead to the end to make sure he was ok then went back and read the rest of the story - who knew happy tail could kill you! Sounds awful - much love to your whole famil...

Re: Starting puppy on flyball

I don't have much to add. We start with puppies but no jumps when they are young. Focus is on flat recalls, tugging, and distractions. Foundation work. My 2 cents - clubs who are not competitive probably are not on top of the latest training techniques. In short, if you want to be safe AND competiti...

Re: Cracked teeth from raw bones!

Sadie cracked a tooth on a rib bone. Since those are now banned and i never give femurs, she gets her bones ground up with the meat. She can safely do chicken/duck/turkey necks and wings.

Re: Wallace and Roo are having troubles...

I've been following the saga on facebook as well. Just know you and your pup are in our thoughts. Cancer sucks. I hope his time left with you is comfortable and happy.

Re: OFFICIAL e-collar debate thread

Your pup is lucky to have you as an owner. You clearly care a lot and you are willing to educate yourself and admit when you may be in the wrong. That is bigger than many people on this planet. Kudos to you and your pup.

Re: Sadie is sick, Round 2

I spoke too soon. Vet called and said I get to bring her home! She thinks a bug may have bit her on one of her walks out because of the timing and isolated location, no more fever, etc. It's much improved and she is apparently exploding with energy (aka normal). I don't have time to get her before w...

Re: Sadie is sick, Round 2

I have nothing to report right now. She's stable and they will call me back after rounds to give me a plan for the day.

Sadie is sick, Round 2

Well here we go again Yesterday Sadie was her normal crazy, ball obsessive self, running around like a loon on crack. That is normal. By the evening time she was a lethargic lump. She felt warm to me but I didn't have a thermometer to verify. Next morning she was the same. I did a couple of tests. H...

How long should I expect to feel the staples beneath her skin?

Re: Sadie's voice has changed

It went fine, thanks for asking. I showed the vet the video I made and she agreed, it's a bit of a difference. Lymph nodes feel fine, and Sadie's anatomy makes evaluating the larynx impossible. She sent us home with some anti-inflammatories. We're working with the assumption that she probably has la...

Re: Our enormous Amstaff is returning!

there really aren't short cuts.

Exercise, obedience, keep him healthy. Stimulate his mind, tire his body. Then snuggle on the couch before bed.
