Re: Unchewable Harnesses?

Thanks for the tip! We actually ended up getting her a metal prong collar, which has worked beautifully--she's always been naughty in public, but with her collar on she is the perfect little doggy citizen. :) We are very pleased. I'll probably get her a new harness later for biking with, but this co...

Unchewable Harnesses?

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anybody knows of a harness that my anxious dog won't chew through. We've already gone through two--and have temporarily patched up a third, but it's looking like anything made of fabric or nylon just won't cut it. We don't leave her by herself on it for very long, but...

Re: Julie FREAKS OUT at the beach.

Oh no, she's definitely sitting by herself. The only reason I call it 'submission sit/stay' is because it's the way I can get her to slow herself down, control herself, and do what I ask her to do. Also, when she loses control she's partly in zoomies-mode and partly in 'uuuhhhhhack! I don't know wha...

Re: Counter-Surfing

We also have the neatest counters of anyone I know. NOTHING gets left on there at night. Period.

That is quite the challenge! Somehow, at our house there is always a cereal bowl, odd pan or something left out.

Re: Julie FREAKS OUT at the beach.

Also I checked out your photos and want to know why you think she's got cattle dog in her. She looks like a pit bull to me (and really looks like a couple of reddish dogs with ticking that other PBF members have). Did you know her parents? We don't know her parents--the only reason I say that is be...

Re: Julie FREAKS OUT at the beach.

Okay, well it's good to know my goofy dog isn't the only one. :) I think I may bring some tug toys next time, like you said. She loooooooves to tug. I think I'll keep taking her back there and treat her often for listening. I want to sort of get her used to it in the coming weeks because we're about...

Julie FREAKS OUT at the beach.

Hi everyone, So I took my APBT/Cattle Dog mix Julie on a walk along the river the other day, and in one place there is deep sand like you find at an ocean beach. I thought, "Well, this will be fun" and jogged over to it. We had the beach to ourselves, it was calm, so beautiful, and then sh...

Re: Caramel vs. Door

Yeah, I vote cheapo round door knob--you can just use the same screw holes and there won't be any difference after you move out and replace it with the handle.

...Maybe one with a lock. lol

Re: Hi Everyone!

Sorry that was so short, here's a little more about me and Julie. I'm a nursing student going through all the classes required before actually applying to nursing school, an I live in the countryside of Northwest Washington. I grew up here, and my husband of four years is from Brazil. We are ...

Hi Everyone!

Hey, I'm Elle, and my husband and I just rescued a Pitbull Terrier/Australian Cattle Dog mix. We're adjusting to each other and she's adjusting to her new home--although she's still pretty anxious. I was happy to find this forum of people promoting a positive image of Pitbulls. I've only had Julie (...
