Re: Am Veterinary Med Assn ruling against Raw Pet Foods

What I wanna know......... is HOW is grandma coming in contact with feces ? What about the smaller dogs that happen to step in it while outside and then jump on granny's lap. Granny later rests her hands in her lap and even later itches her face. If you think about it, dog owners generally are not ...

Re: Dog breed genetic tests put to the test

Interesting article, but I was disappointed to find no mention of BSL at the end where it discussed

Do a mutt’s breeds matter?

What breeds comprise a mutt is clearly interesting to most, if not all, dog owners, but beyond simple curiosity, is there any value to knowing?

Re: Riddle's TTA recovery thread

Thanks for keeping this journal.
My boy has done something to his leg and a preliminary check by a canine PT friend thinks it may be a partial tear. I'm heartbroken that my bouncy boy may have to be quiet for months.

Re: Recall, Kirkland and Taste of the Wild

Ugh, I've fed four recalled bags lately. I keep my empty bags a while just in case of something like this. Looks like I'll be sending in for a few vouchers!

Re: New grain-free dog food!

HappyPuppy, see below: so far, not in love. tucker's feeling grimy, and he used to always feel super-soft and clean, goopy eyes on all the dogs , and doc's dropping weight, so we have already had to double the amount of food we feed him ... if things don't improve by the time this bag's gone, we'll ...

Re: "spotting" urine?

Spoke to my vet: He agrees that the female's symptoms sound like what he calls "Hormone Responsive Incontinence." He's filling a prescription for Diethylstilbestrol (DES) and Phenylpropanolamine (Propagest, Pro-In) for pick-up later today. He recommends a trial with both medications, then ...

Re: "spotting" urine?

So now my male is doing it too!?! He was the only dog lying on the bed with me last night and I noticed a wet spot where he had been. I assumed it was saliva since he had been attending to his privates rather lustfully, but after the smell test: definitely urine. It was not conscious marking as I'v...

Re: "spotting" urine?

Thanks enigma, but she was spayed years ago, when she was around 6 months old. Might it take years for spay incontinence to show up?

"spotting" urine?

My five year old spayed female is "spotting" urine. A dog has peed my peed twice in the past few weeks, and I'm pretty sure it's her. Restricted her access to the bedroom, no more bedwetting. Then last week we were somewhere with a tile floor, and I saw drips on the floor that looked like ...

Re: I'm back

Well I'm a single dog-mom from Virginia and I got into the breed about 10 years ago when I fostered my first pit. From then on I was hooked. They are such clowns lol. I currently have two pits, Sunny and Cleo. Sunny is 8 and Cleo is about 5 now. I've had Sunny 5 years and Cleo 2. They get along most...

I'm back

hello everyone! I'm an old member but my home computer broke some months ago and now I couldn't get my account working again. I figured it doesn't matter as I mostly just lurk. A bit about me.. I've got rescued pit mixes and due to hip displasia we dabble in rally-O, nosework and the occasional coun...
