Re: When should i switch 2 adult kibbel ?

I always hear that a year is the switching point. Whenever you do it, make sure to do a slow transition to the new food.

Re: Can exercising a young dog be dangerous?

Primarily, I don't like to see a puppy doing enforced running. A puppy free playing in an open area is great, that is what they are meant to do. A puppy going for a 5-mile jog on leash, not a good idea. My own choice will always be to err to the side of caution, you will hopefully have many years w...

High impact activities aren't good for growing bones, and very hard on the joints.

Lacey is almost a year old (July 10 is her birthday).

No...certainly not. I am only asking so I will do what's best for my dog. After reading MANY different resources, I make a decision for myself. You don't have to be so rude about it.

Can exercising a young dog be dangerous?

I have heard from a few people online now that exercising a young dog in the form of having him/her run is dangerous to their growth. Is this true?

Re: Getting tired out really quickly - I'm concerned

The Detroit area. We deal with mostly surrounding cities and a couple of county shelters that have little funding. Totally off topic, but since you are fairly close you should come check out UKC Premier in Kalamazoo next Thurs through Sunday ;) Lots of fun and some awesome vendors. Oh cool! What is...

Re: Getting tired out really quickly - I'm concerned

While she could just be lazy or out of shape, keep in mind most of the shelters in MI don't heartworm test their dogs. Also many of the dogs from shelters in this area leave the shelter with kennel cough, and that can take a week or two to show symptoms from when they came in contact with it. Not s...

Getting tired out really quickly - I'm concerned

Lacey gets really tired out from a simple 20 minute walk. She comes home and collapses on the floor and takes a nap. And if she plays with another dog, its a matter of 15 minutes before she is laying on the floor all tuckered out. I want to be able to take her for long walks, but I don't want to hur...

New Pit Owner

Hey everyone! My name is Amanda and I am a 19 year old college student. I live with my boyfriend in Michigan. I just adopted a 10 month old female pit mix last week from the Humane Society. I worked with the dog behaviorist there for several weeks, working to find the right dog for me. I named her ...
