Re: hip dysplasia

My dog had signs of HD when I bought her home at 9 weeks. The main sign was a swinging rear end. Like a real obvious swinging of her butt. Mind you I think she deals with it better than dogs who develop it later in life because she has always had to live with it. Her HD has caused other issues like ...

Re: Halp ! And Hey Ho !

:goodpost: Unfortunately because they look bad ass isn't really a great reason. You need to actually like the temperament and behavioral traits of the breed as well. Maybe do some research into the breeds history, what its temperament is like, what sort of exercise and other requirements the breed h...

Re: Sonny's watering, still...but even worse

I'm sure you have searched the internet, I found this article about Ptyalism (Hypersalivation) When the vet checked Sonny did he do a examination of this teeth, gums and throat? http://www.petplace.com/dogs/ptyalism-hypersalivation-in-dogs/page1.aspx Thanks Patty, that's interesting. I have noted i...

Re: I need help not a bashing

Personally I love the look of the ears cropped, in saying that I still quite like natural ears as well.

But I do get why some people are against it as well.

He looks gorgeous!

Re: Our Vet Visit came up with an issue.

What the. Based on those pics she looks probably a little too bulky. Maybe your vet needs glasses or he is used to those whale Pitts that get around. My girl is 16 months and its only been the last few months she has actually started bulking up and stopped looking like a whippet. Mind you she is tal...

Toning and Building Muscle

Hi All, Ok so Phi is over 12 months now (she is actually 15 months) and has finally started to put on some bulk rather than looking like a bloody Whippet X. Pictures of her now http://www.dogforum.com.au/attachments/bsl-dog-legislation/7158d1323987759-amstaff-x-logan-city-phi-daisy-hill.jpg http://w...

Re: Found this guy today...

^^^ Agree with the post above about making sure you take all the right steps. Call local Animal Control and report him as found, call the local Humane Society, take an add out in the paper, whatever you can and keep records on everything. I am sure you saw what happened with MrGrimm and the pup he s...

Re: Good Lord, anything else at this time?

My heart is breaking for you and Zoe, it skipped a beat or two when I read that she was scheduled for euthanasia. I am very sorry Val, you have really had a hard time recently and no one should have to go through what you (or Libby) have in such a short span of time. You did your very best for her a...

Re: Petella Luxation

I would highly recommend you see a Chiropractic vet (as in a qualified vet who is also a qualifiedchiropractor, not just a vet and not just a chiro). And see if an exercise plan and hydrotherapy could work, for your dog. My now 4yo dog (30kilo ridgie x) had luxatting patellas on both sides, she had s...

Re: Hip Dysplasia in ten week old puppy?

Yes sadly my now 4 yo dog had hip displaxia from birth :( She always walked funny (back end swinging, twisting legs inwards as she walked, bunny hopping) but being a novice owner I didn't realise. She had surgery for luxatting patella at 10 months but the vet didn't pull her hips up. It wasn't until...

Re: Please help, I'm worried

If he is taking scraps etc that I would be falling more towards the fact he is being picky. Before panicking I would go out and buy some of his usual food the Purina and see if he is eating that normally. It could be a case of he just doesn't like the new food. If he is not eating the Purina like no...

Re: Does and has anyone used Comfortis?

I have used Comfortis. When I moved into a new house the last renters had dogs and the house was just absolutely infected with fleas, my dogs ended up COVERED in them (even though they had been flea treated) and my older dog has flea allergies and her skin was horrible, red and inflamed and she had ...

Re: I rescued a pitbull today.

First off. Thank you for picking Chance up and helping him, your his angel!! I noticed in your last post you said both dogs are neutered...so this means Chance has obviously had an owner in the past if he is neutered so I would definitely be looking for owners. He may have looked so bad because he h...
