Speaking of eating grass. I've heard that dogs do this when they have an upset stomach, true or no?

To much protien?

I recently started switching Clyde from Canidae to Taste of the Wild. He seems to really like it, get's really excited about meal time now. TOTW has 32% crude protien as apposed to 24% in Canidae. I had thoght this was a good thing as the posts here seem to tote high protien, meat and veggie, no gra...

A pit that's 58 lbs. and underweight?!?! You know the breed standard calls for 35 to 60 lbs, right? He's only 2 lbs under the max! You sure it's a pit and not a pressa or dogo or something?

Anniston, AL G.J.'s Pet Chateau is a great mom and pop joint. They used to special order Canidae for me but with gas prices their dealer has upped the minimum order to $500 and they can't handle it. Really they're dumping their food section, say's it ties up the money to much. But they are extremely...

Run for the hills

Whenever my husband and I get into a fight Clyde cows down and runs. If the door is open he'll go outside, if he can't get that far away he'll just find the farthest corner of the house and curl up with a wilted look on his face till it's over. It's been quite good for us because it reminds us to tr...

Hmmm, well. We were getting the 20 lb. bag for 25 bucks. That's a similar price to petfooddirect BUT you throw in shipping and it's $41 K9Cuisine doesn't carry the 20 lb bag. They have a 35 for 49.99...a penny off of free shipping. Not quite double the size for double the price. Of course if I bough...

We were having a similar problem. 3 cats 1 dog a bajillion fleas. We used frontline spray without luck, then the liquid you smear between the shoulder blades, bombed the house and sprayed the house. No good. Finally the vet gave us some round tablet. They said it was new on the market and runs 17 do...

Bye Bye Canidae

The pet store I take Clyde to has been special ordering me canidae and felinae for six or seven months. We've been really happy on it. But now, due to gas prices, the supplier (Phillips I think) is upping the minimum order requirment to $500 a pop and they just can't meet that number. So, no more Ca...

Before the Fact

How do you know when BSL is being considered in your area? My fiance told me a while back that he saw in the paper that Gadsden, AL just banned pit bulls. (That's only a half hours drive from us). I hadn't heard anything about it until after the fact. How do you hear about it before hand so you can ...

When to Spay

I had always heard that it is best to get your female spayed before she ever comes into heat. Even coming in once will increase the chances of ovarian cancer. But this guy at work said he just got a chihuahua and the vet said to let her come into heat once before spaying her or she'll "go crazy". No...
