Re: Opinions on this ingredient list
Thanks for the reply, dogs love it, eat it all without any added goodies mixed in
I think they are doing good on it so far - our newest addition has gained a few well needed pounds in the last few months so all is well.

Opinions on this ingredient list
Hey guys/gals. I would like for some experienced members to weigh in on this list of ingredients of a food I have been using. We pay just over $80 for 55 lb bag, the main ingredients are apparently sourced locally, organically, and fresh with the main mix being created once a month. Here are the det...

Re: how many of you have dogs that fight ?
Like some others have said in previous posts, nothing is guaranteed so you should always do your best to set them up for success! I look at at animals from the viewpoint of "what can I do for the animal" rather than, "what can the animal do for me" If you take that perspective, y...

Re: Help Crazy Woman next door
Hmm, I have to agree with the pro-active and positive response that another member previously mentioned. If the woman is feeding them out of a kind heart, then she will hopefully understand your little white lie about the dog having a digestion issue and needing a strict diet...seems more reasonable...

Re: Is this good advice...
ok thanks all, yes I meant to say heartguard instead of frontline, oops!. I have some of those frontline things and honestly I don't like using them as preventative for the ticks and fleas. Our dogs very rarely have flea issues, but they do get ticks often since we walk through the woods and fields ...

Is this good advice...
...for a recently adopted dog that is around 6-8 months old? Technically because he was 6 mo when he got his vaccinations he shouldn't need any more, I believe. However, if you print out what he's had so far it would be up to your vet to determine what else he may need. At most I'd do an annual Dist...

Re: opinions if I'm feeding my dogs properly
been busy for a while so havent been on the forum. To clear things up I was giving raw turkey bones, but have since stopped because they started puking some of the skin and stuff that was attached to the bone back up. I have also quit cooking on stove top, and have moved onto boiling chicken, rice a...

Allright, thanks for the reply! Just what I needed to hear and I will take your advice on the diet. Your dog looks great and the pic you posted to compare really helps out.

Re: opinions if I'm feeding my dogs properly
Well heres the pics I said I would get, they are a little blurry must have had the camera on the wrong setting. My pit Rocko just looks thin to me, my Rottie Debo looks pretty good, but has lost several pounds lately. I'm going to scale back on the veggies until I get a processor. http://farm7.stati...

Re: opinions if I'm feeding my dogs properly
gotcha, I did not know about mixing the veggies in a processor!! Thats got to be it then, makes sense now, I just still have a lot to learn but thats why I'm here. As far as weighing the food goes, I need to get a small accurate scale to size the protions properly, as it's just too hard to get an ac...

Re: opinions if I'm feeding my dogs properly
Sorry about that...I'm not seeing an edit button or I would go back and change it. I can get some photos later tonight, I should have stated that I did weigh them last night and they are both down about 4 lbs in 3 weeks. I don't think they are at an unhealthy skinny yet, I just don't want this weigh...

opinions if I'm feeding my dogs properly
I read through a lot of the posts in the several diet topics in this section, and it seems like most people are either completely BARF or are doing a good quality dry kibble, or a mix of kibble and moist. I'm not big on the completely raw diet, for one my pitbull WILL NOT eat raw meat! My rottie doe...

Re: Please help, I'm worried
well good to hear, just keep an eye on him. I understand the pain of a tight budget, and we all try to do our best. You wouldn't be here posting if you didn't care so just keep doing what you are doing and post back up if issues remain, or maybe you could borrow some cash from someone you know?
