I would definitely go back to the vet and at least let them run something on the ear discharge to see exactly what it, and what meds he should be on. My girl has to be on an oral AND something I squirt in her ear for hers to clear up all the way. And make sure to get rechecked when your done with th...

I am going through the EXACT same thing with my girl Jada who is only 4. Even though I work at my vets, I've still paid over $500 to figure out what is wrong with her. The beginning of Dec she was lame. Took her in, did xrays and the whole ordeal. Saw that she has somewhat poorly formed hips(ie, hip...

Take a tour!! Meet the vets! Ask the following questions... -is the facility clean and well lit? -do they have dedicated surgery rooms? -do they encourage the 3 year vaccination policy? -do they educate on socialization, deworming, heartworm, microchipping?? -is the exam thorough? -are you comforta...

PIG EARS ARE BADDDDDDD. When I first got Jada, 3 days after having her, I had to rush her to the e-vet on a Sunday afternoon because she was lethargic, vomiting, diarrhea....a tiny piece of pig ear almost got impacted, luckily she threw it back up...after $400 of tests! The money wasn't an issue.......

What do you guys use for dog laundry??
I'm using Tide Free right now, but it doesn't always get the dog funk out...especially if they run in their crates before I can grab them to dry them off....yuck!

I hate Frontline. I don't live in a particularly bad flea area, and it still did almost nothing to get rid of fleas. They would be gone for a week or so, and then they were back full force.

Advantage is AWESOME, I use it every 6 months or so.

Lab/Pit X Needs Help ASAP

I have a lovable girl with a sad story who needs a foster or forever home! Here is her sad story.... About a year or so ago, Pat(my sister's friend) rescued the dog from a girl who could/would not feed or take care of her. He was living with his parents, who already have 3 dogs, knowing they would w...

I love the vets I go to, its a hospital with 4 different vets, so lots of consulting goes on since they all have their strengths. My 'regular' vet is great, never pushes me to spay Jada. He LOVES her, gets down on the floor with her, talks to me about possibilities, treatments, options. All of the v...

I used to use a product called derma-dream when Jada had problems with grass. I would just lay her on her back, rub it all over her tummy, and the rash/bumps would disappear! Luckily it was pesticides or chemicals they used on the grass where I lived. So no more of it!

Just wanted to say good luck! We used to give our lab who had this done 3 times, glucosamine w/ chondoitin(sp) for help with arthritis. I also had someone say that bone meal can help heal bones, but I would do some research into that one. Good luck!

I know for Jada, her anal glads only act up spring and fall when she is having allergies to what I'm guessing are higher pollen levels, those are also usually when she's in heat too. Hope you figure out what is wrong!!

If I knew how to post pictures on here I would....but you can check out pictures of Jada at http://ktaylor6642.tripod.com/photographs.htm just a site that I had to make for school, so ignore most of it! She's been eating Canidae for almost 2 years. Before that she was on raw. Keeps her at a PERFECT ...

Jada always gets more eye goop in the spring and fall when there is lots of pollen. Almost her way of having allergies. It never seems to bother her, but if it does I'll just give her benedryl.
