Re: Paradoxical reaction to Xanax (alprazolam)

Xanax is in the class of drugs called benzodiazepines. A very powerful and dangerous class of drugs that is way over prescribed and very abused. I personally believe that it should be outlawed, the medical benefits are out weighed by the consequences. In the case of your dog, the jump in dosage was...

Re: My arms are sore!

I had a few of those issues myself. If the dog loves to play, run, etc, play with the dog till he's pooped. Let him take a couple minute breather and commence the walk. If Roxy is on my left, the leash is tight in my right hand and also gripped with my left. I keep my left hand in one place, and Rox...

Re: How do i stop abby from licking people??

Roxy is a pleaser, so by letting her know that I was NOT pleased by her licking she got the point immediately. It was so adorable watching her hold back the urge to lick me hehehe. If she's on the couch and she licks me, I start off with the phrase "no licking". If she continues I'll say i...

Are you promoting your book, or your beliefs on the breed?

Re: Meet My Beautiful Sidekick, Roxy :)

The breed restrictions in Texas are intense also, so an aggressive dog is not a concern. You do realize aggression and reactivity are not breed traits, right? I love her, but slapping on your cloths at 2am walking down all those stairs for 2 minutes of potty time... that gets really old. It sure do...

Re: Meet My Beautiful Sidekick, Roxy :)

Imagine this: your girl walks ahead of you to take a corner (or let out by herself from a 3rd floor apartment? Are you kidding me?!) and there is me, walking my Violet, on leash. Guess what? Dog fight. Your dog just came around unleashed around a corner and approached a very dog reactive dog. Not o...

Re: Meet My Beautiful Sidekick, Roxy :)

I'm amazed at how easy she is to train, and how receptive she is to my behavior. I've gotten some negative attention for it, but I see no reason to keep her on a leash. She stays at my 5 or 7 o'clock and only walks ahead to check around corners. She scared the daylights out of one girl when she tore...

Meet My Beautiful Sidekick, Roxy :)

Say hello to my almost 2 year old Roxy! Her papers say Boxer-Lab, but me thinks otherwise.
