Re: My arms are sore!

Thanks everyone! I'm concerned using a head collar, for fear of Jax hurting his neck when he pulls. He sometimes will just do a random burst pull and it seems that could really hurt him.

Re: My arms are sore!

Kinda sounds like he needs to go to your friend's yard and get his zoomie on. I'm not an expert and I'd wait till the two weeks is up but you might get better results if he's a little tired from zooming around and playing fetch. Don't worry - it will get better!!! We have a puller and now she has g...

Re: Healthy House Cleaning (Long but food for thought)

I haven't read all 10 pages, but I'm also curious about the oils. I'm really wanting to use safer, non-chemical cleaners in my home, but want it to be safe for my cats and dog. From what I've read, these oils are unsafe/toxic to cats and dogs: Peppermint Lemon Oil Lavender Oil Melaleuca Oill Cinnam...

Re: Healthy House Cleaning (Long but food for thought)

Alright, just found something that says coconut oil is safe. That's all I could find though?

Re: How do i stop abby from licking people??

I've 'attached' a cue word for licking. If I go up to Jax and ask for a kiss, he'll lick me and I praise him, but if he licks me without me asking I turn around and ignore him until he stops.

Re: Stop standing on my foot!

My boy, Jax, shows reassurance behavior a lot. Either by leaning on me or sitting on my feet. Odd thing is, this is typically while we are inside my room (where he stays right now until his 2 week lock down period is up and he realizes my cats aren't toys...).

Re: My arms are sore!

When I walk my shepherd who loves to pull, I put on a harness and let her have at it. (This only works in an area where you are able to walk without your dog interfering with others of course!) She certainly can walk at a heel, its not GREAT but we have a Rally Obedience title so she knows somewhat...

Re: My arms are sore!

I'm trying to avoid any negative reinforcement (yanking the leash). Hoping to do this as positive as possible, and just ignore him when he's being bad (hence why I just stop moving when he's pulling). Thanks :)

My arms are sore!

Alrighty...My big guy, Jax, who just recently (almost a week now) joined my family, is one heck of a puller on his leash. It's KILLING me! I've read through the thread about training on the leash, but do have a few questions and wasn't sure if anyone would see that thread bumped back up, so decided ...

Re: Hi There :)

Awesome!! Can't wait to hear how the weight pulling goes. My boy kept wanting to eat the jug so I never really pursued it lol. He loves to fetch and tug so he is good with that. Nice score on the harness! Yeah my friend feels terrible but hopefully his story helps someone. Glad you understand the w...

Re: Hi There :)

beautiful boy! You can start getting him used to a harness (you will need to buy another when he is grown so I would look for a used one for now craigslist, etc) don't work him too hard until he is older and you can tie things like a milk jug with some rocks to get him used to dragging something. A...

Hi There :)

Hey everyone! My name is Katie, and I've recently...well, just today, become a Pit Bull Mom. His name is Jax, he's about a year old, neutered, and a beautiful blue boy. I'm completely smitten by him :D Other than Jax, I also have 3 cats, 20+ geckos (I breed them), 1 axolotl, and 2 Marbled crayfish. ...
