Re: Urinating on the bed?

Deterbee - This sounds like what our dog is doing. It started after he was neutered. He was one year old at the time, but he had a very lengthy and "complicated" recovery after his neuter. The vet did a UA and exam. The results were inconclusive. We've been taking Blue on more frequent wal...

Re: Hello from MA

I agree that 5 weeks is a little young, but it looks like the puppy owner is very concerned and diligent about raising a puppy the responsible way.

I enjoyed reading your post Maximus because it is well organized and your writing is clear and concise. :) Thanks for joining!

Re: Urinating on the bed?

The vet couldn't find anything difinitive with Blue's exam. At this point DH is convinced he is urinating in his sleep. It makes since since it only happens on his beds and never anywhere else. It concerns me that this started after he was neutered. Has anyone heard of a dog urinating during his sle...

Before you are approved they want to read more about you...your hobbies, how you got your dog, what kind of work you do at the shelter, etc.

Urinating on the bed?

It has been about two months since Blue came to live with us. He's settled in nicely and we really couldn't ask for more from a dog that was abandoned and left to fend for himself. A couple of weeks ago we got a huge dog bed for Blue to lay on in the TV room while we are watching TV. During the day ...

Re: Should we euthanize our pit bulls?

I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Your posting brings tears to my eyes and reminds of a situation that happened to me almost 4 years ago now. Just as you, it was the reason I came to PBF. I was beyond distraught after watching my Raphael being attacked right in front of my eyes. We had 3 dogs that ...

Re: Should we euthanize our pit bulls?

This is an unfortunate event that has happened. RIP Rosa. Since we don't have much history on Toby, it is difficult to say what the best thing to do would be. I am a firm believer that euthanasia does have a time and a place. If you don't trust Toby and think he will attack again, then perhaps it wo...

Re: The return of the rash

That looks really uncomfortable. Poor Loki. I don't know the history of Loki's rash, but has the vet tried giving her steriods (such as prednisolone) to help with the itching? When is her vet appointment? I used to have a spray that I got from my equine vet that had betamethasone in it. I really red...

Re: Fast eating issues

What kind of food and how much are you feeding him? Feeding too much can also cause him to throw up. Regarding feeding, small meals are best. Eating too much can cause vomiting, and it can also cause more serious problems as well. There is a condition called GDV where the stomach full of food actua...

Re: That time of year again; Goals for 2012

There are a lot of motivated people here doing a lot with their dogs. I'm impressed! Since Blue is technically my first dog, I'm just going to enjoy him this year and look into getting his CGC certification. I'd also like him to learn to go out on rides with the horses. Maybe we'll also start some a...

Re: Think a dog knows who his owner dislikes?

Animals absolutely can sense when people are "bad" or perhaps devious is a better term. Dogs especially pick up on body language that we, as people, may overlook. Horses are really good at reading body language as well. Animals can also hear or feel vibrations that humans cannot. The emoti...

Re: New Member!

I love to read cat introduction stories! My cats are the same as yours and have never lived with a dog. Most of the time they view the neighbors' dogs from a limb high up in a tree (getting them down gets old after a while). We live on a farm, so being outside during the day is part of their job. We...

Welcome. You sound like a great owner! Your job sounds very rewarding, although it must have a lot of challenges, too. Looking forward to hearing more stories about you and Bambina (love the name by the way).

He's very cute! Looks great in the snow, too.

Why didn't animal control have him neutered before you adopted him? That seems rather strange. Hope you can get him done soon! :)
