Re: Neutered or Natural?

But why oh why don't we really have male roaming dogs here in Norway? We don't even have leash laws except between april and august here, so intact male dogs are let off leash all the time here on walks, in the forest, in the park, let to play with other dogs. Off leash male dogs are normal and comm...

Dog aggression, identifying motivation (ping Red?)

I have a foster dog here currently, she's not doing well with other dogs. Not atypical considering breed of course (she's an American Bulldog), and nothing difficult to control or anything. She's cool, she just has issues with strange dogs. But anyway, I'm trying to identify what her motivation for ...

Re: Neutered or Natural?

Living in a country where the vast majority of males (and females) are intact I never could understand how drastic and exaggerated intact males are portraited on here. I don't recognise this reality at all. (And I sometimes even find it a bit arrogant to imply that neutered males have a better life ...

Re: Pasadena-Mini Pocket Pittie

I'm in Madrid, being a little busy bumble bee cruising the city for vacation. And what do I do when I finally have time to hook up to the hotels wireless? Jump on the iPhone and hurry over to PBF to look at Pixies videoes for the umpteenth time. I'm so smitten and I profoundly hate Norwegian legisla...

Re: Pasadena-Mini Pocket Pittie

Oh my... Be still my heart! Thanks for the vids. Although they didn't really help curb my crush on her. She is just so disturbingly cute! And such a perfect size too, I could take here everywhere with me! I'm so happy she got out of the shelter. Cairn? That's just too funny. Looks like she could hav...

Re: Pasadena-Mini Pocket Pittie

I would go to such lengths to get this girl here and give her a home. Seriously. I have watched this video like 20 times, she makes me smile and tugs at my heart every time. She is just the cutest little thing I ever did see.

I really really hope she was rescued. Anyone know what happened to her?

You seem to have a very good educater in Tucker. Lucky you and Buttons! I don't know how old Buttons is, but I have seen this time and time again with puppies reaching a certain age (5-6-7 months depending on the individual). They get more comfortable and start seeing how far they can stretch things...

he is a observer type of dog, thinker, This made me giggle. Anyone who followed Nippledog will attest to the fact that he was completely opposite! lol Even though he had some of the same blood as yours ( you can see his ped here: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3468/3387761316_457dc09b2d_b.jpg ) He ...

I think it is very difficult to make any sorts of generalizations about the American Bulldog breed. I have some experience with them since I started the national breed club here, and I have organized many shows and events. Some have been annuals with up to a couple of hundred dogs present. In other ...

I wouldn't add so much weight that you could call it physical exercise really. It could hurt him more than benefit him in my opinion. That's just me though... I don't know if you meant you adjusted it forward towards his shoulders? It doesn't look like you had much to go on in the first place? And I...

ALuengo, I disagree. That is a very poor fit for a backpack. If you see the original post on this thread you'll se some photos of a properly fit backpack and instructions on how to fit one. I have to admit. There are a lot of poorly fitted backpacks in this thread. This is the reason I personally di...

Ok. We ended up taking him to the vet a few days after this thread died out as he wasn't getting any better. Skin infection was diagnosed, and he was put on antibiotics and prednisone. He got a lot better from that of course, but it took him a long time to get rid of the infection this time. So he i...

Thanks a lot for all your feedback. We're giving him over the weekend to see how much he improves. He is still itchy and loosing some fur, but he is better than he was so I'm trying to focus on that.

So do you think this could be a staph infection, Carla? Or does he just need time to heal? I get what you say with the rubbing. I've never had a problem with this before, but that in combination with human shampoo may have put him right over the edge. Poor nekkid thing! I feel horrible about it. Oh,...
