Re: sleeping outside of the kennel

I'm lucky with my girl so I don't have experience with that but I suspect its a magical maturity thing that you just have to wait out.... Bed cuddles are the best but not when you have a midnight marauder! exactly! he'll be great for a little nap if hes exhausted or if its really early in the morni...

Re: sleeping outside of the kennel

can't you just close your bedroom door? There was a short period of time when our puppy would wake me up around 3am. I thought she needed to pee but she just wanted to lay on the sofa. She is not allowed outside at night because of the cat. We don't trust them to be alone just yet. We gave her a mo...

Re: bedroom help

Re: bedroom help

They need physical and mental exercise. Look for "work to eat toys" (ie. a kong) which may help him calm down at night if you give it to him when you put him in his crate for the night. Also, look for a good, positive method, trainer ASAP. You'd be surprised how much fun a basic obedience...

Re: bedroom help

Agreed! We do different types of exercise -- sometimes on leash and structured, sometimes I use a backpack, sometimes we do off leash trail walks, sometimes we go biking, etc. I try to never walk/do the same activities twice in two days. i'd really like to get into biking with him, but even when i ...

Re: bedroom help

One walk, sometimes two, would NEVER cut it with my dog for exercise and socialization and he's 5.5, not a year old adolescent. I'd bump up the exercise and see how he does then. A whole work day and a whole night on a crate is a long ass time if he isn't being exercised properly in between. what k...

uses bed as a toy

so my 1 year old loves his bed in his kennel, but if he gets the chance and i leave the kennel door open he will pull them out of his kennel and run around the house with them trying to destroy them. how can i teach him that they are not toys and get him to sit on them outside of his kennel?

Re: hello from miami

his ears are one of my favorite things about him. Per our adoption agreement we had him neutered at a very young age. so the cone pushed his ears forward while they were still in the molding phase. so now they are so soft and delicious to play with!
