I'm not gravitating away from the breed to do better at my chosen venue... they do quite fine at rally and obedience. I'm just more interested in smaller, harder terrier that are even more versatile. I also just want a smaller dog again. Border Terrier, here I come!

I used the same leather muzzle when I raced Kitty, and trust me she was panting just fine... and I was feeding her treats through it. I like that muzzle a lot!
I hope this thread will get a variety of opinions/input. How do you choose a dog for working/ sports/competition? Is it a wiser decision to get a puppy from a breeder that has proven working parents in the sport/competition your interested in doing? Do you get a dog and see where the dog's talents ...

Don't worry about them only wanting to work when you have treats... the intermittent treating once they know the command really does work.
