My dogs love baby carrots and will beg for them just like any other "treat", so they usually get one when I'm making lunches in the morning.

Malone has been adopted by a family with 3 kids who he will adore, and a mommy who will use him as a therapy dog in a care home for nuns where she is a nurse's aide, woohoo!

Does Strongid need to be refrigerated?

If so, hopefully it's not too late. Got some yesterday to give to some of our rescue pups, and there are no directions to the effect of how it should be kept. I'm administering tomorrow, but currently the liquid is just on my counter....

HugABull's first Island adoptable...meet Mr Malone!

Here's our first Vancouver Island adoptable, Mr Mellow Malone. This dog is the BOMB! He's awesome with kids, good with the resident dog, very very gentle and playful, and just an all-around cuddle bug and happy guy. He's 100% trustworthy in the house and car, no chewing or potty accidents at all. He...

Thanks for all the input. I took him in, and they took off the stinking scab, cleaned it with peroxide, and gave me 2 weeks worth of clavomox. All for only $80 which I thought was reasonable, and that includes a free follow up visit on Weds! While I don't shop at Petcetera AT ALL, I am fast becoming...

Thanks for the input. I don't know if he has a fever or not but I'll try to get a vet appointment for today. I don't want the poor guy to get worse!

Anyone experienced with abscesses on cats? (or dogs)

My cat Pei Pei's obviously been fighting with the neighbour's cat, and now he seems to have a nasty abscess on his ear. The fair has fallen away on the outside of the ear and scabbed, and inside it is apparently oozing green and smells horrendous, according to my spouse Barclay. He cleaned it with h...

I've used the mixed fish oil caps before, but normally I give pure salmon oil caps. Human grade, I just buy 'em at the grocery store, and give 25mg (1 capsule) twice a day for each dog, right on top of their food. Tully's come to love them so much that she'll actually pick the cap off her food and e...

Yes I think she was doing some searching around for her ball. She knew exactly where I had stored it away while doing her temperament testing and didn't forget about it.

Did you want me to do some more testing? Let me know how I can go about it exactly. Feel free to PM me.

Princess, the Island Beauty

Meet precious Princess! She is a beautiful cow-patcher American Bulldog, with hair a bit longer than breed standard so perhaps mixed with some lab. Princess is about 5 years old and was surrendered due to a relationship breakup. She loves loves LOVES to play fetch with her ball, and always returns i...
