Re: Puppy questions (with pics)

Thanks for the ear feedback. They're both sticking up most the way now and I hope it stays that way! Also, she does look like she grew into her eyes, if that's possible. She's still a runty little stinker, though, at 23 weeks and 27 lbs. I'll be surprised if she reaches 35. My husband and I joke tha...

Re: Umbellial Hernia post Spay

They spayed at 8 weeks?! Not saying that's wrong, just I've never heard of it. My Emma has an umbilical hernia too. It's gotten a little bigger as she's grown, to a little larger than a quarter on an 18 lb pup, but it's not causing any trouble. Per the vet's suggestion we're waiting to have it fixed...

Re: Puppy questions (with pics)

No more pics because I can't find the camera, but her white ear now stands up half the time! She's growing a little faster too: 16.5 lbs at 16 weeks and 17.8 at 17 weeks. Oh yeah, she's sticking with the Orijen Puppy and Orijen Fish mixture, and gets 1 cup in the morning and 2/3 cup at night. Now th...

Re: Healthy treats

After Emma spat out a soft liver-flavored training treat (the rest of the bag went to the Humane Society in a jiffy), I've just stopped wasting my money and use kibble. She responds to it just fine, especially if I hold back part of her dinner and make it a work-to-eat sort of thing. What are you tr...

Re: Puppy questions (with pics)

I'm going to keep updating this thread with Emma's weight and age, just so others can see the growth pattern of my teeny tiny little pittie! She currently is 14 pounds and 15 weeks exactly. She has gotten taller and more "dog-shaped" as opposed to squishy puppy, but she's still my little l...

Re: My pup has no tail.

I've heard it's kinder to the dog to amputate a badly broken tail than to make them deal with it healing, but "bad" for a pit bull to have no tail? I can't think of a reason why. Your dog will look unique and that's about it that I can think of. As far as clumsy, that's a puppy deal! My gi...

Oh my goodness, your girl is adorable, Cherry! Thanks for posting the growing-up sequence, our doggies sure do look similar.

Re: Puppy questions (with pics)

I know the parents were both average size, but my husband says she was the runt of the litter, so who knows where she'll end up!

Puppy questions (with pics)

My little Emma is close to 13 weeks old. Other than Puppy Problems, she's a great doggie. There are a couple things I've noticed about her that seem to be a little off. I'd love to get and advice or stories about them (we are going to ask about them at her 2nd vet visit on Tuesday). First, she was b...

New puppy owner from Oregon!

Hi! I've wanted a dog for years and years, and my husband and I recently decided that now was the best time to go for it. We brought home our little girl a little over a week ago. She's 11 weeks old and 10.4 lbs as of Monday. She's learning quickly to communicate having to go potty. She also knows t...
