Re: Thoughts from Rescue people?

Ah that stinks. I would hate to have to make such decisions but in retrospect you cant save them all. Humans made these dogs the way they are, even if it was inadvertently and now it is up to another human to end the cycle with these dogs. The liability is just too much and I think it would be easie...

Yep, Benadryl is safe for our dogs. Good to keep on hand incase of an allergic reaction. The dosage is 1mg/per pound of dog. So a 50lb dog would get 50mg. If you do decide to use it, make sure that the ONLY active ingredient is diphenhydramine. It really sound slike hives to me. Has she ...

Bad Cut Inbetween Toes

So Rory has a awful cut inbetween her toes. Its bleeding really bad, looks like she cut it on glass. I cleaned it with water then peroxide, but some yao powder that stops bleeding but she wont leave it alone. If I wrap it she'll rip the bandaging off for sure. She is currently gated in our laundry r...

Re: Fear/Pain Biter

We had an issue last night that really sucks. My sister went to let him out of the crate before the guests got here for our annual xmas party, and started yelling for my mom. My mom came up into the room to see what was going on, and Sarah was holding Bugs by his collar. My mom went to grab the sle...

I think you need to seek proffesional advice in this case because it seems as if you DO have issues with the breed despite the fact that you claim to be sympathetic to them. I dont say that as a pit bull lover and advocate so please dont take offense. I say that as a animal lover because I can assur...

Rory is STRESSING me out!!!!!! LONG

Backstory : Rory has always been overly sensitive to my moods. If I'm distressed she wont settle, she paces, whines, and has even been known to shake violently if I'm upset. That has only happened when my grandpa died and when she tripped me one time and I started crying. She is underfoot so much l...

I think a yawn can be a appeasing/calming gesture towards us as well. I 100% agree its a stress signal, especially when accompanied with licking of the lips. However I find that Rory and Primo do this to tell me "no more hugs, your smothering me" or in the morning when I first wake up and ...

First do you make him sit and wait while you prepare his food? You should be able to set his food down, walk away and he shouldnt advance towards it until you've walked away and said its ok. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX50SjKBpO8 while practicing this, if at anytime he starts to advanvce to you,...
