Re: travel stuff

unfortunately, my back seat headrests are little more than raised bumps in the backrest, emphasized by stitching... ill look into childproof backseat covers... maybe those will be water proof

Luna and Nala both get carsick... and i drive my great grandmother's car, so it has leather seats and is more or less in perfect condition... i really don't want them to mess it up either by vomiting on it or clawing the leather, but i can't seem to find a reasonably priced back seat cover/hammock t...

Re: In desperate need of used kennel, Help please

i'm nowhere near that area, but where im from, you can post on facebook in the "[insert county name here] County Buy, Sell, Trade" page and get people near you who have kennels (and a bunch of less useful items lol). there's someone in my county selling an outdoor 10x10 kennel for $40. im ...

odd eating behaviors

I've never encountered this with any dog of any breed... Nala won't eat until Luna eats, while Luna won't eat out of her bowl unless I trick her into doing so. Let me explain... Luna will eat anything i hand/toss to her, but she won't eat her breakfast from her bowl. I pet her food in her bowl, set ...

Re: licking...everything.

not usually, but lately she's been barking any time someone walks by the window in a hood. it's like 20 degrees out, so that's every 10 minutes or so. she's fine if i'm wearing a hood, but seems to think if hoods are outside, and not on me or my bf, they're monsters.

Re: Sooooo over-excited to see new people and dogs. Bonkers

How is she with the "Stay" command? might try working on Sit/Stay with all sorts of other distractions (food on the floor, toy being tossed or rolled across the room) and then try introducing a very laid back dog at first by using the sit/stay while on leash. It will be a more gradual way ...

Re: Sooooo over-excited to see new people and dogs. Bonkers

Luna acts the same way. training anything will help if only because mental excercise is just as tiring as physical sometimes. I was reading an article that said going for a walk would tire a dog out enough for training, but upon reading an article on how to leash train such an eager dog, I found tha...

licking...everything.

Luna has decided that it is her personal mission in life to lick everything. she doesn't lick constantly in one place, she was just licking the wall and came over to give the table leg a lick. she's not really what I would call obsessive about it because she doesn't keep licking, just one or two wip...

Re: pit/husky mix in heat...maybe?

thanks. is it weird that Nala has already gone into heat, but Luna hasn't? Nala is 7.5 months old, Luna is 11.5 months old. I had read somewhere that they can go into heat anywhere from 6 to 14 months, but I really expected Luna to be first.

pit/husky mix in heat...maybe?

Nala went into heat last weekend. I noticed her bleeding on Saturday, and promptly looked up how long it should last (it's been a while since I had an unaltered dog); everywhere I looked said she should bleed for 7 days. it's been 10 days; she's still bleeding (rather, there's still reddish fluid co...

Re: waterproofing?

So there are no water repellant sprays on the market that are safe to use on pet clothes? i find that extremely hard to believe. i've been looking at the Scotchgardâ„¢ Durable Water Repellent spray, and i can't really imagine how it would be bad for her if i spray it on the outside of her sweater and ...

waterproofing?

I'm currently crocheting a sweater for Luna to wear this winter, and i realized quite suddenly that it will likely start raining the moment it gets cold enough to warrant the sweater. Since it's being made out of yarn, i'm afraid it will absorb moisture and actually make her colder. My question is t...

Re: pit bull chasing cat

Just remember that if your cat keeps bullying the other cats and causing pain/frustration to your dog, the odds of a real fight happening, increase. Your dog may end up gutting the cat, or you end up with two cats at the vet because of a cat fight. The dog playing with the cat is bad(because its no...
