Re: Oral flea medication - anyone tried?

Thanks guys,
so I got a prescription for comfortis, but seems like the size I need is sold out and backordered everywhere, including my vet. I found few places that sell it without prescription, and ship it from Canada. Would you trust those? I am a little lost...

Oral flea medication - anyone tried?

with a toddler in a house, and me being pregnant, I have been very weary of using topicals on Sheba. So I have found out about oral anti-flea medicine called Comfortis. Seems like there are some side effects, but again, everything can have side effects.... Has anyone tried it on their dogs? How did ...

Re: Itchy butt

So maybe I should look into psychological reasons rather than physical? :) that is the area/spot where their mom's licked them when they were born to stimulate their nursing reflex. I have seen dogs, cats and horses all do that , probably lot of others do it as well. if you ever get the chance to wa...

Itchy butt

Sheba has started doing this thing lately (maybe few months): she will come up to me, and start bumping her rear into my leg. Not under the tail part, but more like the lower back (where back meets the tail). Ultimately, she wants me to scratch it, and when I do, she is over the moon happy. If my le...

Re: Pet Insurance

MissKitty, these are the questions for the insurance agent. Why don't you call them and ask? You don't have to give your name, etc, so they will not track your questions to you if you decide to sign up.

Re: Pet Insurance

Ok, guys, there is a new kid in town and I am switching... Trupanion hiked up my rates by 45% (they did it for everyone in Florida and California), so I am no longer supportive of them. The new insurance is http://www.healthypawspetinsurance.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They a...

Living with lumbosacral spondylosis

So, Sheba was diagnosed with that thing... Everything she loves doing involves jumping - Dock Jumping in particular. I wonder if anyone elses dog is living with lumbosacral spondylosis, and if you still let them be a dog and do things they love. Are there any supplements that worth trying? She doesn...

Re: Pet Insurance

Oh, and there is no limit on amount they will cover. It used to be 20K, but that have changed it this year to unlimited. So, if your procedure costs 10K or whatever - they got your back.

Re: Pet Insurance

Bringing this thread back... with all the horror stories I've been hearing recently, plus helping my mom with the shelties, it just seems pointless not to get insurance for Turtle. I've looked into a few companies, and I'm pretty much leaning towards Trupanion, but I have a few questions about it (...

Re: Stitches. Infected. What to do?

It is red and looks puffy. There was another growth removed the same day, and that one looks completely healed, no redness, etc. Both were done on the 9th.

Stitches. Infected. What to do?

Sheba had a growth removed on her hind paw. There were few stitches (maybe 3), and she was so good about not touching them for almost a week, but today I noticed that the stitched wound is all read and infected looking. So, she might have gotten to it after all. Or something gotten into the wound. W...

Mutant fleas...

I think we have some kind of mutant fleas here. Sheba is on Advantix (has been for years), but this year she keeps biting herself even on the treatment. Poor thing was up all night for the past few days, scratching, and biting and licking. She is covered in bumps (her reaction to flea bites), and I ...
