Re: Got a Mouthy Pup?
It would be much better if your pup was at least with littermates. That is how they learn about bite inhibition and how to behave. If you can get another of the puppies for a few weeks, and keep them together, it would be ideal.

Re: Concerned pit mommy
I hope with you it was just a incident and a one time thing but when they go in competition for something you break it off as fast if you can but in a relaxed state of mind, so the dogs don't see panic, so don't panic. You better not throw with shoes. :) Still good luck. Yea, definitely no more sho...

Re: Concerned pit mommy
Well they both seem to have forgotten whatever it was that pissed them off. I really think it was a reverse aggression thing. I think me throwing the shoe at the door, meant to get their attention, actually startled them. The way we learn lessons in life. How could I do something so stupid? Here the...

Please help. Advice needed
I'm sorry, but rather than go through the whole thing again, I'm posting the link to my thread in intro. If anyone can offer any solid advice after reading through this, I'd love to hear it.

Re: Concerned pit mommy
Good idea to post in behavior. I will. I absolutely stop him when he humps. After that they usually just lay around and mouth play with each other, but when he starts to get on her back I correct him.

Re: Concerned pit mommy
If I'm nervous, do they react to that? Like right now, I'm feeling on edge so I'm wondering if I should leave them separate. It's so stupid because I know they've been together since the fight, but it was so damn frightening that I'm really just kind of still panicky.

Yay! I figured it out. Here's my girl, Mary Tudor. Like the painting I had done of her?! http://rs1200.pbsrc.com/albums/bb333/christyanneT/Mobile%20Uploads/FB_IMG_1454442967680.jpg?w=480&h=480&fit=clip http://rs1200.pbsrc.com/albums/bb333/christyanneT/Mobile%20Uploads/FB_IMG_1454442977106.jp...

Re: Concerned pit mommy
The male is fixed, don't know if I said that. The thing is he still tries to hump her, and it pisses her off. It's usually just a growl and he gets away from her, but the day I threw the shoe at the door, I caused the fight. I will never do anything so stupid again. I don't know if it was both of th...

Re: Concerned pit mommy
I've put your dog online, nice dog! :) Thank you! I wanted you to see her. She's very short and cute, and her bark is funny. She doesn't even stand as tall as my knees. Her breathing is weird, and she snores, and makes weird noises. Two things I would never want for her is puppies, or anesthesia. I...

Re: Concerned pit mommy
No, Mary is like a dwarf pit. She's very short and stocky and she's never exhibited aggressive behavior toward another dog or person. I wish I could post a pic of her but I haven't figured out how.
