Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA

She is so sweet. She's missing the same front leg our Dante is - they'd make the cutest tripod BFF's! I'd take her in a heart beat if I could! But we're at our doggy limit - I hope she find a forever home soon. http://www.tripawds.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has a rescue and ...

Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA

Hey all, just an update on Ms. Hope. I got a PM earlier asking and forgot I'd not updated this thread. The rescue has Hope fostered now with a dog trainer who also runs a boarding business. She's taking her the next step that we couldn't as we only have 1 dog. Her new foster is helping her with much...

Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA

So a random day bump for Ms. Hope. She's still with us, getting better at obedience and getting some much needed socialization when the rescue folks have time to bring over their dogs. Anyone want a cute little tripod?

Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA

Sorry for the late responses; it's been crazy around the house with Cody recovering from TPLO surgery and me starting a new job. Here's some pics of her from the past few weeks. She's doing great. Fully recovered after all her surgeries and her most recent one to remove some sutures that didn't diss...

Re: WA..Looking for a young pit bull

To add to Violet's suggestions, in addition to her rescue there's a number of local ones including Bullseye. Just google 'Pit bull rescue seattle' & you'll get a bunch.

Re: Water therapy recommendations for Seattle, WA?

Thanks! I'll check those out. The one I found was WellSprings in West Seattle:

Haven't heard much about them, but one of the folks from the rescue used them.

Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA

If you need any assistance with training, just let me know :) Stormi - I'll let the rescue know; we may take you up on the offer. And thank you for making it BTW. Ms. Hope is home and doing well. Her stump drained and the surgeon left it a little open to ensure it doesn't fill up again, but as of n...

Water therapy recommendations for Seattle, WA?

Hey all -
Anyone have any water therapy recommendations for the Seattle area? Cody will be having TPLO surgery on Thursday and will therefore need rehab in a couple of weeks time. I'm trying to look around now to find a good and lower-cost one in case we need it.

Thanks!

Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA

OMG I love her, bless you for taking her in. Please give her a kiss from me. Will do; she comes back home today from the Vet. On Saturday she was laying on a nice new costco dog pillow & we noticed her stump was quite swollen. Just as I was mid-dial to the vet... it popped. Basically she built ...

Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA

No pics at the moment, will try to get around it, but Ms. Hope got her stitches removed today. The vet says the incision has healed up great so she's done with the physical recovery :)) :)) Now just working on training... talk about a stubborn little girl!

Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA

All - Thanks for the well wishes; Hope appreciates them. So a positive update: She's really bounced back to her happy, pushy, want-to-play all the time self; which is a problem we're happy to deal with (because she NEEDS to stay CALM for 2 more weeks!). I've really noticed she's gotten that sparkle ...

Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA

I wonder if amputee dogs have phantom pains like people do in the extremities that are removed. There is a doberman in our neighborhood that has one of it's front legs amputated. I've spoken with the owner & said that for the first few months, he did. They had to amputate it due to some sort of...

Re: Hope - Fight dog recovering in WA

rambler72 - The current plan is to let her go for adoption. We almost failed with Bella (posted somewhere on this board) as she was our first foster & just a great dog. If we hadn't let her go nor Penny, we wouldn't have been able to have this opportunity to help Hope, so the plan now is to let ...
