Re: cute pit with an underbite

she is in heat right now..we did test her with a male puppy and she was curious but then he tried to climb on her-she curled her lip at him and of course we couldnt let that continue. We really couldnt get more of a test with other dogs than that for now because of her situation. But she did pass he...

She is much much better on the Atopica than she was on the steriods. Without Atopica, she literally is scratching and licking constantly - to the point where she wakes me up at night with it. On Atopica, her symptoms have been lessening more and more, she's been on it about 2 months now.

We went off the steroid since the effect wasn't good enough (IMO) to outweigh the risks associated with long term use. She was taking a pill every other day. Now she gets Atopica daily.

I too have an allergy dog and have gone through much of what you have. OTC antihistamines have no effect, she's been receiving a weekly shot as well, for over a year with no effect. Steroids gave us some improvement. What I HIGHLY recommend though is Atopica. It is a pill specifically for allergies ...

The volunteer who has her now has actually arranged for a vet to do a dental on her - fully comped. The vet estimates her to be closer to 13 than 17 and thinks probably every tooth will come out.

Her condition was much worse than we were expecting....very sad.

I'm not quite sure yet, as she's currently in North Carolina. The owner says "bad" and that some of them should probably come out. She eats only soft food because that's all she can eat (at least that's what I get from the emails).

yes, this is under a veternarian's supervision. this is the dosage the shelter veterinarian prescribed him when he first arrived at the shelter. he improved by leaps and bounds and is only now backsliding.

i will check what the % is on our bottle.

he's still on everything he has been. he is intact and about 9 months old now, so i suppose it could very well have something to do with him maturing.

:goodpost: 7 weeks old is way too young to be fixed. It is not giving a dog a chance to mature at all! Please also take into account the long-term consequences of waiting to speuter within the shelter environment. In a shelter you have two choices: A: Speuter at an early age (pediatric spay/neuter)...
