Re: Anyone tried Apoquel? Molly's itchiness hopefully resolv

FYI - in the event anyone is still following this - V. had a major allergy reaction a few weeks ago (not sure what triggered it) - was treated by derm - pred & benadryl shot, antibiotics, Benadryl 50 mg twice/day for 2 weeks with temeril P in afternoon if needed. She got progressively itchier......

Re: Isit ok to take my 6 month old pup trail hiking?

When Veronica was around 6 months old I took her on a dog walk; not even near 12 miles...and I had to carry her the last half of the walk. lol She let me know by stopping and jumping up on my leg, just like a little kid who wants to be picked up. So based on my experience, I would think that a fairl...

Re: Anyone tried Apoquel? Molly's itchiness hopefully resolv

According to V.'s dermatologist there is a nationwide shortage on apoquel and she doesn't expect to get it until 2015. She said might get it (being a specialist) fall 2014. Missk - could you elaborate on your comment below. Are apoquel and cyclosporin in the same family? What would you consider to b...

Re: Anyone tried Apoquel? Molly's itchiness hopefully resolv

I just read the patient brochure and did a little digging online. I'm not feeling so comfortable with it right now and may pass on it. I don't like the part about "APOQUEL may cause pre-existing cancers to get worse." http://skinvet.wordpress.com/2014/02/01/apoquel-safety-how-apoquel-is-li...

Re: Anyone tried Apoquel? Molly's itchiness hopefully resolv

Veronica is on the wait list for Apoquel, Her dermatologist thinks it should come in next month. She is speaking very highly of it, wants V. on it instead of Zyrtec; says it works MUCH better w/o the side effects of prednisone or antihistamines... She said when it first came out they sold a 6 month ...

Re: Cosequin?

We use dosequin.

I have no idea if it works or not. The vet recommends it and I figure...it can't hurt. If it's helping...bonus!

Re: CCL repair walking video - Feedback wanted

She looks great! Martin sends her love and kisses (and says he is oh SO happy that he had his legs done before that water therapy thing, he would have died) Those first weeks post surgery are so stressful, but she is doing great! Veronica thanks Martin for the well wishes. And sends back the love (...

Re: CCL repair walking video - Feedback wanted

Just wanted to give a little update: We are actually at 8 weeks now and coming along. The rehab gave us a whole bunch of activities to do at home; and we bought one of those wobble boards that they had her on. She is going up stairs slowly, but we are holding off on going down, only a few stairs at ...

Maybe this will help:

I would beg, borrow & steal to get to the vet ASAP.

Re: CCL repair walking video - Feedback wanted

This may be a challenge...we had been avoiding grass because Veronica tried to throw herself down (so she can roll on her back) and that usually ends in jumping up and trying to zoomie... however now we have this 2 leash system going recommended by the doc, so we have a leash on her collar and a lea...

CCL repair walking video - Feedback wanted

OK here is a short video of Veronica walking yesterday (11/11). She had her surgery 11/8 and came home 11/9; so I am calling this the 3rd day. For you guys with experience with the procedure...feedback please? I was feeling pretty comfortable because I was told that some dogs don't even put the leg ...
