Wait, did I miss something? Missy is your son's dog, no? So he never trained her on a leash or anything? Two weeks ago you posted that you had to give her back to your son anyway because your wife was allergic...did I miss a thread? 3) Now my wife wants me to take Missy back to oldest son's house be...

ok, so the dog bit her childs face and her arm and this poster is getting sh*t for removing the dog from her home? NO! As numerous posters have said numerous times, she is "getting sh*t" (I'd call it getting good advice, but whatever) FOR GETTING ANOTHER PUPPY, not for rehoming the first ...

Agreed...no dogs on the bed, here. We're very strict with the NILIF training and that includes, for us, not letting dogs sleep in the bed. They get to sleep in the same room, because they are part of the pack. But they are the lowest members and not being allowed on the bed cements that. That has be...

The first 6 or 8 weeks we had the new baby home, we would find his little socks in Loki's crate. It was a strange thing because Loki is never any trouble at all. But he had a thing for those socks and the occasional dropped onesie...we were always finding them in his crate all slobbery and smooshed ...

And I still don't see how she is going to be in the news one day when she keeps her dog in obedience class, she got rid of one that bite her daughter, got a new pup to train early not to nip , but some how all that training is going to lead to a awful dog because she got a puppy and not a dog... :h...

Thanks for the support for the ones supporting my views and seeing it from a mom's point As a mom myself, I DO see it from a mom's point. I think you are right to re-home the dog if your child's safety is in question. I'll say it again: the issue is not you rehoming Socket, it's you getting another...

So I don't see how y'all are saying its typical of this breed to bite children. That goes against all that we preach. doesn't it? I mean what thread was it were a guy was bashing someone on myspace about having a dog near a child's face and every one commented on how ridiculous that guy was then al...

I could have just thr...

so the legal day of adoption is the day they will be PTS? If so apparently the first coupl are out of time :crybaby: yes, it's true :frown: sometimes the ACO, Sherry (I believe that's her name) will try to keep the dogs as long as possible (past their dates). Yes, the Legal Day is the day that the ...

Ok I read your intro...Socket was only 7 months old and you got rid of him for playing too crazy with your kids? And now you're getting another pup? Just so you know, once this new pup hits adolescence, he is going to do the same exact thing. You need to train pups as to how to appropriately play wi...

Well the first and third pups I listed have been adopted! Still leaves a lot more... ALL pit bulls/mixes except for one lone chi. That's what we mostly seem to get at the Hartford Pound - pit bulls and chis. http://www.hartforddogpound.com/files/422.jpg http://www.hartforddogpound.com/files/47.jpg h...
