I didn't think of that, thank you for the suggestion! :)

Not a problem! I'm not one for grinding, but started with 3 week olds so ground worked for a while.

Re: boiled/baked boneless chicken

Our dog food freezer gets packed w/ chicken quarters and chicken backs, bagged in Ziploc bags. Generally, we get a month or 2 supply upfront in the freezer. Nothing has ever gone bad or been wasted...

Re: Bad tooth, what do you think?

The price is on par for what we paid here in Seattle to have Sadie's molar removed. No teeth were cleaned and no xrays were taken though, because we knew it had to be removed (slab fracture). It was $600 all said and done. It was a really big molar though. We're in the Northern VA/DC area and it wa...

Re: Bad tooth, what do you think?

I'd have it pulled. We discovered a cracked molar a few months ago on my youngest dog. Our vet had us bring him in the next morning for an extraction. During the surgery, she did call to say it *could* be saved with a root canal and she just wanted to make sure we knew our options. Granted, we went ...

Re: Need New Dog Collar? any for sell cheap or for free

You're probably not going to find more "inexpensive" than Stillwater. Don't let the dog chew on the collar and it'll last longer. And yes, washing will bring back the new look.

Re: Plastic crates?

After all that money, you might have been better off buying the ProSelect Empire crate from PetEdge. After 2-3 destroyed crates, that's what Kane ended up with. Now, he's fine in whatever crate you put him in.

Re: Plastic crates?

We've gotten all of our plastic crates from Craigslist. Is that an option? Or something like that?

13 lbs in muscle? Wow. Posting pictures would help see if it's a good weight or not.

Re: allergy shots?

The serum is not that expensive. I think I pay $120 or $160 for a 6 month supply. He's now on maintenance injections so it's every 3 weeks. Not bad. And since we've been on the shots, he hasn't scratched himself completely raw anymore. Sure it's not a perfect fix, but it's helped tremendously.

Re: allergy shots?

I got the panel done and then the custom serum done. It's helped. I believe it's supposed to desensitize them to the allergens? If I'm not mistaken. Kane's never licked his paws raw, but he has some days where he's more itchy. I'll still pop him Benadryl on those days, but it's here and there.

Re: Breaking up a fight with 2 or 3 dogs

I can't imagine even TRYING to pry a jaw open. Please don't...I did and I thought I lost half of one of my fingers and sticking my hands in his mouth was the only reason I was bit by my Pit Bull - our other dog, a border collie, bit me at least 10 times. It was my initial reaction to my first exper...

Re: Breaking up a fight with 2 or 3 dogs

I can't imagine even TRYING to pry a jaw open. A dog that's serious isn't going to open very easily! When I had to break up 2 dogs by myself, the only thing I could do with lift the most aggressive one (and bigger one) up by his collar and luckily after several seconds, he dropped the younger pup. G...
