I don't plan for a whole week. I pull meat for both breakfast and dinner the night before. I have a digital scale that I use to weigh all their meals. They get salmon oil with breakfast and kelp with dinner along with any meds that may be needed. We mostly feed chicken, turkey and beef.

Re: Beginner to feeding RAW. Need Help.

Hello, I want to get into a raw diet for my dogs. They are on Innova's Evo right now. Should I go from Evo to Raw as a quick switch? Or feed Evo 1 day, Raw the next day? Also what are some examples of a raw diet that I could give to my dogs for 1 day? Thanks! FWIW, I've never done any kind of slow ...

It's a bad idea to wait for him to throw up - they don't always do that. If the poisoned object moves into their intestines, they aren't going to throw it up and they still absorb the toxin through their digestive track. Don't wait it out, go to the vet right away next time. Yea I know I didnt want...

My vet has always recognized the vaccines I used to administer. Any vaccines that have been given recently(last 4 years) were done by the vet.

I have one dog that doesn't eat fruit, the one in my avatar. My Am Staff is a fruit whore. Pears are his favorite followed by mango. He and the pug love summer, they eat cherries that fall of the tree, they sh** pits for weeks. They also pick the blueberries off the bushes... brats.

I fed a potato based food to my dogs for a very short period of time, they all got fat even feeding considerably less than the req'd amount. Never again, overall it proved to me that potato isn't a good addition to dog food. I agree. However, (and I'm not sure how accurate this is, so if I'm wrong ...

Most vegans don't take the time to learn the bodies nutritional needs and end up looking like heroin addicts. Much like dogs/cats who are fed a vegetarian diet. Last I looked in the mirror I was anything but emmaciated! I expect the dr. to be giving me a hard time at how not emmaciated I am! Saying...

He looks to be a few months old, I wouldn't feed him more than 4 cups a day. 3 being pretty much middle of the road and more than plenty for a days energy needs. Use an actual measuring cup, you'd be surprised how much food you are giving him with a "cereal bowl".

We buy whole Foster Farm chickens. There's nothing added and the dogs love the organs. I've fed gamey, and still frozen. They don't care and it doesn't cause any problems. My god! They'll eat a week dead vole if it's in the yard! Fresh meat a day or two past pull date isn't going to hurt them.

Fleas carry tapeworm. If he was infested it's a pretty good bet he has tapes. Get him into the vet, bring a fecal sample so they can test it, and make sure he's good to go with everything else before you really begin to worry. Don't over do the food cuz then he'll just get fat and poop a lot more......

Our systems are more adept at getting protein from other sources other than meat. Unlike dogs and cats that don't have the ability to break down plant fibers, either by chewing or digesting, as effectively as we do. I know a lot of people who are vegie/vegan who have been for 30 years or more that c...
