Re: Please think of her

Red, I'm so sorry. I don't come on here virtually at all any more but I remember her well. Life's so unfair sometimes. :teardrops: Lots of love to her and you. :(

Oh, Ella. I'm so sorry. I wish I could have got to meet her. I wish you'd had so much more time. RIP beautiful girl.

Re: clicker training with children

Oh man, that's awesome. Can't wait to see video progress... I am such a fan of training children like dogs. The only major difference in my mind is that as they get older you have to teach them to think for themselves.

I don't know, I have three very sensitive petals. I have lost my temper in the past (yelling) and it achieves nothing, except to make them frantic and naughtier . OTOH a proper calm reprimand will often make all dogs in the vicinity slink around pathetically. What a pain, three bullies who push boun...

On the plus side, no hunters would be $3K for puppies out of proven working dogs, let alone unproven dogs. He's dreaming. I would refuse to help frankly, if his dogs are such money makers they'll sell themselves. I say make your position clear, then leave it alone. He's not going to change his mind.

GOD this chocolate pisses me off. OK, use your brain, and find a vet who will work with you (there are plenty that have no empathy, interest in what you have to say, or simply don't mesh with you). But advising people not to go to the vet unless they think something's wrong? Thanks for that! Some pe...

Yeah, we've got a circular saw and drills and crap lying around, not to mention we actually have spare plywood so it's more slackness than anything. Those are great pictures though, I like how you've fitted the box on top. Thanks! More pictures/experiences appreciated of course. :) Good point too Mi...

Treadmill!

Greetings all! This is a training and equipment question, so I just chucked it in here, hopefully that's OK. We have a non-powered treadmill we got cheaply about a year ago. Haven't really done anything with it... we really need to build a frame about it but I'm just entirely sure how to go about it...

I have a hard time believing that he harms more dogs than not, considering that virtually every dog he rehabilitates at his psychology center seems to be far better off then before they got there. Now, some of the methods he uses I've learned can be harmful, especially if not done properly, but ult...

I just wanted to point out that the reason why people are feeling a bit iffy is because fear aggression is probably the most common, and often most unpredictable type of aggression in dogs. And it often starts off as "shy". I have a fearful APBT mix myself who is my first dog and I can say...
