Re: Healthy treats for an allergic dog
One of my pups is allergic to nearly everything. We have found that single ingredient treats work best --- So, rather than biscuits or soft treats we go with freeze-dried liver or jerky. Get one type and monitor your dog as he/she may be allergic to the chicken, beef, etc. IT just makes it easier an...

Re: split nail bleeding - what do I do?
My girl Stella has had this happen 3 times. Was it a vertical spit going right up the nail? Vet recommended omega 3s for it and we haven't seen it since. Hers were so bad that they had to put her under to do a "deep trimming" on the nail -- it was split up to where it comes out of her paw ...

Re: Torn ACL...
We decided to go with a small town vet, because they seam to be more interested in how she is doing, and all that kind of stuff. It was "warming". Guy seemed worried, and I like that. But we got a quote for $1200 for both legs, and that is with check ups, meds and xrays, before, after and...

Can you tell me more about the brace? Is this something you would need the dog to wear forever? Or just a recovery tool? Do you have a link to a company?

Vet recommendation - Massachusetts North Shore
I recently moved from Utah to Reading, MA -- have tried a couple of vets but not really super fond of any of them. So, I thought I'd put a call out and see if anyone has a great vet! I particularly would like to know if anyone has someone that is knowledgeable about or has performed ACL or CCL surge...

BAH! BOTH of my dogs have ACL issues -- what to do
Hi there, It's been a while since I have posted but I guess I have that tendency to run to the forums when I'm in a crisis! Both of my dogs appear to have some sort of ACL (maybe CCL) issues. We won't know for sure until there are X-rays. My main problem is just moving across the country, being away...

Re: barking, growling......
Working on that with one of mine and have made good headway -- she is an angel and loved everyone . . . who wasn't on the other side of a fence. Work with your neighbors, I'm sure they'll be glad to help. You just have to desensitize and have the person walk back and forth along the perimeter that's...
I don't know that the last article is accurate. They were attempting to include pit bulls in with dangerous dog legislation and have now decided to talk it over more before deciding. I have the proposed info from the city. This is ABC4 news sitting on their duffs and not doing their jobs. They must ...
This issue has been tabled until they can have another work session, probably some time in the summer. We made a lot of headway with the city council and a LOT of them changed their minds. I think this thing is now dead in the water. The reason they cite for this is the response they got from pit bu...

WE WON (sort of)! This issue is being tabled until they have another work session (sometime in the summer). The hubby and I spoke to many council members and others and made some great headway. Amy Wicks, as I figured, was against it from the start. It came from the administration. I spoke to the ma...
This is my response to the woman who in the article said that she supported the rules because a dog in her neighborhood attacked another dog. My other emails were similar, minus the info directed specifically at her. I got a quick response from Brandon Stephenson. I plan on calling anyone who doesn'...

I wanted to add that I have been thinking about running for city council. This Dorrene Jeske woman is in trouble. She is at large, and (I think) up for reelection this year. I know it will hit to late, but she does not know who she's MESSING with! Either I will max out my donation to her opposition ...
