Re: Cookie has new lumps :(

Alrighty, just spoke to the vet, who wanted to know if I had at least picked up the prednisone, so that was fun to have to explain again that we can't do that until next week . Anyhow, I asked him about the $150 injection, and it's Elspar (L-asparaginase). I have not yet been able to find any infor...

Re: Arlee (foster)

It was removed a last week, found out yesterday it's cancer, they are running test on the rest of her to make sure nothing has spread. If it has then she'll be undergoing treatment.. It went from a 5cm lump to a 7cm lump in the time we where in hospital, The only reason we found out is because my si...

Yoda had http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=1676" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Here is a photo of how it looks today, it looked more like the one in your photo when I first found it. I thought, after some internet research, that it was Ringworm, a...

Re: Anyway to increase Red Blood Cell counts...

I am so, so sorry to hear about your Amber girl and my heart goes out to you and your family. As for Amber, she looks so, so much like my Ducati boy (I lost him complications of cancer treatment on April 09, 2010 at barely 6 years old) that it breaks my heart to see you lost her. I still miss him so...

Re: Arlee (foster)

Impacted salivary glands are rarely due to infection... its a blockage in the duct. Often the only solution is to surgically remove the gland. Did they stick a needle in the lump? Did they get straw or honey-colored fluid out of it??? http://www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/index.jsp?cfile=htm/bc/23119.h...

Re: Arlee (foster)

Thank you for the update :-) I am so glad to hear that her ears are getting better and that her accidents were due to a UTI. Anything new on the lump? I wonder if is the lymph node (not that I know where axactly they are located). Has the vet looked at it when she went in for the UTI? She is such a ...

Re: Cancer sucks

I don't think you're crazy. Can you work out a payment plan? If they think she has a good prognosis, she's a relatively young dog, if there is a way to swing the cost, I'd do it. x2 No, you are not crazy at all... we (luckily we had some home equity left after the market collapsed) mortgaged our ho...

Re: Cancer sucks

I forgot to mention this in my previous post: One thing I found that saved us quite a bit of money during Ducati's cancer treatments (Radiation and Chemo) is asked the vet/oncologist (don't be shy, they are used to it) for a prescription (most meds used are human meds) instead of buying it at the ve...

Re: Cancer sucks

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate cancer....it took my Ducati boy in April of this year and he had only just turned 6 years old...(the vet's screwed up and he bled to death long before the cancer would have killed him) due to a number of errors & wrong decisions ...
