I agree there is a difference between a 'working' dog and a 'sports' dog. Consider the border collie, the ultimate herding dog and a very successful agility dog. However, just because the dog excels at one by no means they'll be successful at the other. High level herding requires an innate instinct...

I think it's very much a situational question. I've seen way too many really sick dogs kept alive longer with of the 'miracle' of modern medicine because people 'just don't want to let them go'. Oh, the cuteness! I love her ears. Keep in mind that even if you decide that she may not set the world on fire in flyball, dogs of all abilities tend to really enjoy the sport. Finding her a home with someone who wants to just expore dog sports would wonderful. She sounds like a good canidate though...

these are the items Van will, right now, fail on: Van WILL break position. he will immediately ditch mom and go whore it up to the friendly stranger and slime them thoroughly. a buckle collar and lead and me screaming NO will not stop him. its a FRIENDLY disobedience... would they fail him for it? ...
