Re: Living with 2 dogs-help (long)

Yeah I thought about that because he never used to get any exercise. He gets tired super fast and I'll take him out and make him run. Even though he's tired he acts the exact same. I've seen him do way more exercise these passed few days that I've had him than he's probably ever had in his whole li...

Thanks for all the info, she's going to discuss the suggestions made here with her vet at their appointment this week.

Re: Spondylosis (spinal osteoarthritis)

Buddy has spondylosis too and yet we only found it accidentally when we took xrays of her abdomen. She is non-symptomatic and if your guy only has slight arthritis, I would be questioning this "diagnosis", especially since your vet has suggested no more strenuous exercise in a dog who is ...

Alternatives to Metacam?

I'm posting for a friend who is trying to find information about alternatives to Metacam for her dog. She has a 5 year old lab mix with both hip and elbow displaysia. When she was originally diagnosed 4 years ago the vet prescribed metacam and joint supplements. Within 6 months she had to stop takin...

Re: New to me.

Sounds almost like a poisoning...I mean I know the first thing to think of is a seizure (seize, not cease-you should give your airman a heads up on that one), do dogs typically foam at the mouth when they seize? It sounds like bad bad business. And the dog was probably lunging because it was out of...

Luigi missed the part about pit bulls being stoic...

My friend had a Rottweiler like that. He hurt his leg and was pretty dramatic about it, and figured out if he limped he'd get major sympathy. To this day whenever he gets scolded or in any type of trouble he'll instantly start limping.

Re: Veterinary Chiropractor Experiences

I'm having a consult with a chiropractic adjuster next week about Gypsy. I'm hoping she can help, she is going to view the x-rays and we will go from there. When I took my cat to the chiropractic vet she couldn't really see anything on the x-rays that stood out to her, but it was when she was feeli...

Re: ugh....how do you find

This is honestly one of my biggest fears. I adore my vet, as do my cats, and if she left and I didn't know where she went I'd lose my mind. I hope you're able to find out where she went.

Re: Veterinary Chiropractor Experiences

I am officially a huge fan of chiro! A month ago my cat was in so much pain that she was barely able to move. She had one chiropractic adjustment, as well as some acupuncture, and today she is racing around my apartment, bouncing off the furniture (literally bouncing!) jumping on and off a 7 foot sc...

The one in the link Muttkip provided is pretty impressive. If I was looking for a dog house, that's the one I'd use.

Re: Purdue Vaccine Study

I've been doing titers for 2 years now. Once they were fully vaccinated by 6 months or so, the only thing they get after that is rabies and that is because it is required by law. A titer will not suffice. With the rabies they are on an every 3 years routine. Everything else our vet wants to give a ...
