Re: Expectations for Patrick....

I saw an update on Facebook that he had fluid in his abdomen, so they had to check his heart (can't remember the medical term - looked like an ultrasound that looks at his heart). I really hope he makes it and is able to find a happy home where he is loved and cherished. I'm completely blown away th...

Re: Joint Supplements

A good friend of mine has a Lab mix with both hip and elbow displaysia. She uses "Mobility" from Wapiti Labs (http://wapitilabsinc.com/pages/PRODUCTS_MODULE1/#ecwid:category=165013&mode=product&product=318466" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and it has honestly made ...

Re: Decided to try out Holistic Select

I used to feed my cats Holistic Select and loved it, but then one of my cats developed sensitivities to grain so I switched them all. I was looking at it in the store this weekend and noticed the packaging had changed (it was about 5 years ago when I bought it last), I didn't know it had been bought...

That seems an awful long time for you guys to have to house the pup. I figured it would be similar to the stray hold at Animal Control.

thanks! The other day somebody asked me the same thing, but not sure quite sure. Are hearing problems a common thing for these dogs?

White dogs can have hearing problems, or be completely deaf. Not all white dogs, but some.

Questions about Spaying through a Shelter

Do you have a vet in mind that you would feel more comfortable with? If so, if you talk to them they may be willing to offer you a discount on the spay surgery. I've adopted 4 cats from the same rescue, and over the years I've become increasingly uncomfortable with the vet they use, for the same rea...

Re: Questions about Spaying through a Shelter

I really think MissKiwi was just trying to help and give her opinion, from a different point of view. I don't believe she was trying to put you down. I understand what each of you are saying. I would be very frustrated if I were in your situation, and rightfully so. I don't think MissKiwi is the pr...

Re: Compassion Fatigue

I've been thinking about this thread since I read your original post yesterday Amie. I never before thought about how hard it must be to work in a shelter, or at a vet clinic, or in a similar position. I thought my job was stressful, and now I feel like a jerk because the worst thing I have to deal ...

Poor Isabeau :(

I hope this is the last of the growths and that neither you nor her have to go through this anymore.
