Re: Backpacks-Yes its that time of year

i bought an outward hound one, but the bags were too long down my dogs sides, and when she walked she would just be able to touch her knees on the fabric. apparently this made her completely lose the ability to walk. that was a big fail. i gave it away. next we got an ollydog one. i really liked it....

Re: Costs of raw feeding

meat prices in the states are generally cheaper, but if you put in some effort you can keep prices down. basically, you need time or money. but not necessarily both ;) i feed prey model raw, and i have been feeding mostly deer/moose/buffalo for the past... 8-10 months? since last hunting season lol ...

Re: A Law or Restriction on breeding?

where i live, most of the pet overpopulation issues stem from breeders who would probably qualify for a breeders permit, if there was one. currently in my city, you need a special licence to run a breeding kennel, but breeding kennels aren't the issue. The problem is all the mom n pop types who have...

Re: Conforming

So you're telling me dogs that are rescued from fighting rings are not able to socialize with other dogs? The Mike Vic dogs were fighting dogs and some of them happily coexist with other dogs despite all that. i think that most of the vick dogs get along with other dogs once they're introduced prop...

Re: Opinions on Kahnes Play

if you and your dog are in several classes, why not just meet up with a few of those dogs after class to let them play? coming on here and basically saying "i know you're all against dog parks, but watch my dog park video and give me pointers" is not the brightest plan. it's a bit like say...

Re: So...I'm freaking out....again

in my experience, luxating patellas usually comes with a specific kind of goofy walk. an intermittant 'hop'. tons of small dogs around here have that, but i've only known one pit bull with it. the soreness after resting does sound like a crutiate issue :( that's how my dogs first knee went. graduall...

Re: Stinky treats

for really really high value goodies, i use cat treats. they're tiny, perfect for marker training, and they stink like dead fish. right now i'm using these ones: http://www.waggerspetproducts.com/mightylion.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; yes, my pit bull gets "my mighty lion...

Re: April Trick of the Month: "Do The Laundry"

i may regret teaching this... but hey, why not! i started off by putting the cloth on the couch...because i couldn't hold the cloth, the camera, and the treats all at the same time. (ignore the dirty blanket/mat on the floor, that's where the dog eats her dinner and she just had deer ribs all over i...

Re: March Trick of the Month: Army crawl

now that my dog has learned to crawl, she needs to learn that it IS breaking her down/stay when she crawls along the floor towards her dinner. sheesh, who's idea was it to teach my dog to crawl? ;) lol
i can only imagine what fun uses she's going to come up with for the april trick of the month!
