Interesting. I wonder if pet owners are aware of the quarantine procedure IF their animal happens to come into contact with a possible rabid animal? BC has a high occurance of bats with rabies (as does Alberta) according to a government site. i'd like to think that people are aware of the quarantin...

it's needed if you're travelling across the U.S border, but otherwise it's not manditory.

Could you have a titer done one the dog you aren't sure had the vaccine? that's what i was thinking. also, i spoke to a lady at work, and she said that because rabies is so rare here, it could be that the cat had a brain tumor. apparently she knew of a dog many years ago that went completely nutty ...

i find that chain leads are incredibly hard on your hands. if you need to 'reel your dog in' for any reason (passing another dog, etc), then chain leashes HURT! plus, if they get wet, your hands slide on them. i find that you can have the best of both worlds by using a choke chain. not as a collar, ...
