Re: vegitables in the diet ?

Well I am posting this to get everyones opinion on vegitables in the raw/barf diet.I think they play an important role. In the wild dogs will kill or scavange whatever is available. Also dogs are not picky what part they eat they will eat all of it.The raw/barf diet is meant to give the closest thi...

i've never tried to clip maggie's nails. usually, we're so active that her nails stay beautifully short. unfortunately, since she tore her CCL she's been pretty much inactive. luckily, my SS this year (my local SS, not the PBF one) is a groomer, and as part of her SS gift to me, she said maggie gets...

i'va always used stainless steel too. (they're big and cheap at the feed store ;) ) mine have a rubber ring around the bottom that helps them stop skidding, but even still they do move a little. not enough for me to care tho! if you're having a problem with it sliding around, i'd suggest getting a p...

personally, i wouldn't use a shock collar in that circumstance. i did months of training with a local e-collar trainer. he was REALLY good. very positive. maggie LOVED him. unfortunately, he only worked with the 'newbies', and when i started working with his partner we got in an argument and i quit....

Green Tripe is not available (at least for me, I'm very fussy about where that comes from) until spring. may i ask why, or what you look for in a green tripe source? i don't buy it often (no yard and i can't stand the smell), so i stick with the canned 'tripette' stuff. i didn't know there were dif...

The idea of a bandage is to decrease the post-operative bruising and swelling, thereby decreasing pain and inflammation and increasing soft tissue healing time too... even if it is a pain in the patookas for your poor pup. is it common practice to bandage? my dog had TPLO 6 days ago, and she wasn't...

awww i didn't see this thread until just now. here's hoping that cody feels better soon! my girl just had TPLO surgery on the 22nd, so i know how hard it is to keep your pup still/confined. how does cody tolerate the cone? maggie HATES it, so i've been staying home with her and keeping her cone off....

Oh, and I hope you're giving her chicken/duck feet? or at least a chondroitin/glucosamine supplement? oh yes, of course! maggie LOVES them. she had chickens feet with breakfast this morning :) i'm going to put her on that 'recovery' joint supplement, but the tech figured it would be better to start...

here's a question for you raw-feeding gurus! maggie just had TPLO surgery, and the vet tech said i should take her off the raw foor for 3 weeks while she heals up. the reason behind it being that if she licks her stitches after eating raw food, then she could get a nasty infection. any truth to that...

maggie licks her lips incessantly just before she vomits. i can sleep through smoke alarms, but if she starts licking her lips in the middle of the night, i shoot out of bed at lightning speed and toss her on the tile floor lol Sorry, nothing helpful to add, just cracked up at you shooting out of b...

i've got one. AND a dremel. i like it. my dremel's not cordless, but the pedi-paws thing is. i also find the pedi-paws to be a less 'scary' noise. it's a bit quieter, and doesn't sound so much like a dentist's drill. lol i can use it on maggie's back paws no problem. she'll sleep on her back when we...
