Re: bad breath

Buddy's first dentistry was a result of her fracturing her bottom canines off while chewing a raw bone. Smoked/raw bones can lead to fractured teeth, which will lead to a dentistry, during which your vet will likely do a cleaning anyways. So just not worth the risk in my opinion. depends on the bon...

Re: prong collars and bolt snaps?!

We figured out that the little hook on the prong that you clip the leash to is so thin that with the right movement it can slide through the tiny space where the bolt snap opens and closes. why not just clip the leash around the chain (loop) part instead of the dainty little ring that's attached to...

Re: Leather Safety Slip

i've got a question for anyone that uses a setup like this one... because the backup attaches above the swivel connection on the leash, does your leash get all twisted up? i currently use a backup connection simmilar to the above, and i connect it to the 'ring' above the swivel connection on the lea...

Re: Alternatives to the E collar?

my dog has had many (many.. *sigh*) knee surgeries, and she can't wear a plastic cone at home because she panics and takes chunks out of my drywall with it. on her 2nd knee surgery, i decided to get an inflatible cone. at first, it was hopeless. maggie could spin the 'cone' around so that the velcro...

Re: Emmett has TPLO surgery on Friday July 30th

Pretty similar but yeah some differences. How's she doing after the hardware removal? well, that knee has been a disaster. TPLO, then that healed up but she was still favouring it and trying to chew the sh|t out of it (months later when all the incision was healed up and the hair was grown back in)...

Re: blood blister on leg?

i emailed the photos to my vet this morning, and she replied within minutes (i <3 my vet!) she said it looks like a suture reaction. a warm compress will help it heal up quickly, but i'm not too worried about that because it usually disappears within 1-2 days. her last surgery was a year ago, but ap...

blood blister on leg?

maggie has something on her leg that looks like a blood blister. it's not from licking, she's been coned (had a MCT lump removed on her side). the knee that it's on has had 3 surgeries, the last one being a year ago (last february). TPLO, then hardware removal, then the last one was to fix another t...

Re: pea sized lump

Reading about Mast Cell Tumors on PBF has prompted me to get a lump on Isabeau checked out ASAP. She's had it for a few months, it's a couple inches away from the base of her tail. Lately, I've noticed she's licking and chewing the areas around it. I didn't think it was a big deal, until reading ot...

Re: pea sized lump

Melissa informed me tonight that VetInsurance premiums have gone up so much that people are cancelling their policies. I am PRETTY certain Maggie is responsible for that. probably. my rate basically stays the same if i switch over to a $250 deductible. even with that change, and if my dog lives to ...

FOUR!?!?! holy crap! y-e-a-h what FransterDoo said!!! on the plus side, recovery from a lump removal is a walk in the park after having 4 knee surgeries to recover from! and CHEAP! holy crap, it was only four hundred n some odd bucks to get this done. i can't remember when my last vet bill (other t...
