Flexi Leads...whats soo bad about em?

I could have sworn we were discussing dogs and you were insulting those who use Flexi leads.

When you refrain from insulting people you're much more likely to evade a backlash.

Flexi Leads...whats soo bad about em?

You can dislike them for you. You can dislike them for irresponsible owners and users. However, if you insinuate we're less-than owners by using a flexi lead you're sorely incorrect.

Re: Flexi Leads...whats soo bad about em?

My leash isn't a communication tool at all. My voice and body language are. <shrug> To each his own, I wouldn't call them abusive at all.

Re: Flexi Leads...whats soo bad about em?

Shutterwolf, would you just like instructions of how to make your own? They're super easy, quick, and everyone can make them for cheap at home with a little help from home depot. I made these because most rope leashes (including mine from EllasLead) are too rough on my hands http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbc...

I don't mind flexi leads. I think they are a great tool when used properly by responsible owners in appropriate situations.

Re: Tracking & SAR

We do IPO tracking, does that interest you? I would suggest, as has been suggested to me, mastering one type of tracking at a time to ensure the truest grasp. I do plan to try nosework with Backup so maybe that will teach me more about cross training tracking. We train it at my work frequently I jus...

Re: 4 weekends 4 events

Congrats on the Qs! I hit flat exhaustion this Saturday with too much heat and running too long Friday and Saturday. We were at a NADAC trial and I managed to get Sloan too up and I was too low. She moved too fast and I got completely lost for a moment. I'll remember more caffeine (and maybe ...

Re: Thinkin' bout switchin' from Evo to Orijen

well TOTW is a great price but i wouldn't trust any food put out by Diamond foods. Why? Because of what happened a few years ago? I'd like to try Orijen or Acan sometime but never have.... yeah, any company that has directly caused the number of pet deaths that diamond has doesn't deserve a 2nd cha...

Thinkin' bout switchin' from Evo to Orijen

I have no Orijen experience, sorry. . Curious on how the quality of Solid Gold is these days, been a long time since i've heard much about them I just switched back to Solid Gold sun dancer (?) and thus far I'm happy with it. I only add a cup here and there with my THK & raw but it's not given m...

Re: Kirkland dog food/heads up

I totally agree, however, does your dogs poop have a strange (all-be-it faint) chemical smell?? Denis thinks I'm nuts but it makes me gag and none of the other feeds bother me. I think we're going to try their Turkey variety next (I always keep kibble on hand to use here and there) and see if it's j...

Considering I just paid 50 dollars for a 30 lb bag of solid gold (on sale) I think you're making out pretty darn well. ;)

Re: Kirkland dog food/heads up

I know a lot of people that have stopped feeding kibble and switched to can food and/or a home made cooked diet.(if they do not or cannot feed a raw diet) dog nutritionist and vets have said feeding kibble is like eating a diet of over processed fast food your entire life and expecting to stay heal...

We tested Sloan for everything and found the only thing to settle her and keep the weight at that age was blue buffalo puppy food. I might try switching entirely like someone else said...

Re: The Cost of Feeding Raw?

I think when people say "raw diets are not for everyone" it could come from a place with a little more tolerance, rather than viewing raw as an elite echelon that only The Very Best Dog Owners can attain and everyone else is sub-par. Poor abused Booker.... :teardrops: My happy, slappy dog...
