While coats may "improve" with good nutrition, I know some dogs that are fed top quality stuff with coats that will never glisten like some of these dogs coats do!

That would explain the color... Its probably just a cyst.. Just keep an eye on it still :) maybe someone else has better insight

I feed Natural balance, vit e, vit c, glucosemine, raw eggs, carrots.. whatever raw meat I have around.. occasionally olive oil.. I feel it has a lot to do with variety.. the body can obtain more nutrients from a varying diet. http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m79/TradingUp/The%20Dogs/DSC01220.jpg ...

Looks like a cyst but they are rarely bright red like that.. has he been chewing on it?

My dog gets fire ant bites that look like that but about 1/4 the size.. I dunno.. I would keep an eye on it if it continues to bother him or you I would call the vet

Gagging??

Two of my three dogs have been gagging.. not coughing but gagging? Its not severe but it happens at night when we lay down for bed and in the middle of the night even. Otherwise they seem in great health, we've been hiking, their appetite is great, energy level great, shiney eyes and coat.. Any idea...

Sounds like kindey failure.... did vet say anything about that?

Possibly just a thyroid problem, fixed by meds

Best thoughts with you and yours! Keep us updated
