Forget the age of the dog, forget the mutt factor, forget everything except the vet's phone number.
First time moms can often suffer complications, and 70 days is too long for comfort. Vet visit a.s.a.p.!!
(I totally concur with Aja, the second app't should be for a spay.)[/quote]

It is very tricky...I think listing dangerous medications is always a good idea, but even safe meds can cause reactions in some animals, so making a comprehensive list of "ok" meds is virtually impossible. Every pets individual body chemistry is different, for example I have one dog that is psychoti...

Please be ultra-careful with info like this- I do think it's a great idea, don't get me wrong, everyone wants to be able to help their pet. I will be the first to say that I raid my medicine cabinet if a pooch has a problem, but as a vet tech I see a LOT of well-intentioned owners really make things...

This is definitely real. Where I work, we got a letter about it from the state of Florida two weeks ago. We have had about a dozen suspected cases, only two of which we were able to test, only one came back positive. However, we treated each pet with Zithromax, and they've all recovered well.

Dog needs job!

I am trying to help place "Denny", a patient at the hospital I work at, a really nice dog with a little pittie in the mix. He is in foster care, but can only stay until July 28 when the foster mom is leaving the area. This dog needs something to do- he would EXCEL in detection work and could probabl...

I know this is a late post, but...my two dogs (one pittie, one Catahoula) have been on EVO since late September (I work for a vet that stocks Natura Products and got to start the food before it was officially out down here). I had been feeding raw, but after four hurricanes and lot of ruined food fr...

Home Again vs. Avid

As far as microchips go, there is a great difference between the Home Again and AVID systems. AVID was originally developed for identifying zoo animals, and it is by far the most reliable system. I have been using AVID chips for at least eight years, and I have yet to see a "dud". Not so with Home ...

Wellness

My personal dogs are currently on Wellness Lamb, my rescue dog is on Iams Lamb & Rice (cost concerns). Some friends of mine are doing BARF, and I can hardly believe my eyes when I see the dogs! The Rhodesian has lost 25 lbs and his auto-immune disease is now in remission, and the Pit Mix (who is a ...

Hey all, I have a young adult m/n, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed blue bully up for adoption. Was found wandering about in the Everglades. Go to PBRC.net for his pic and posting, South Florida, under the name Gator. He is a lover and needs a home where he will be spoiled rotten!! If you can spr...
