Re: Kidney diet for Ruadh

No insufficiencies, but the labs are elevated?? That doesn't compute... what exactly is elevated? Whats the urine specific gravity? If the kidneys aren't in insufficiency, there should be no need for a diet change. BUN/Crea were both just starting to be high, I can't recall SG but I can look it up,...

Kidney diet for Ruadh

So Ruadh does not have kidney disease or insufficiency, but his labs from Friday showed some elevations towards the higher end that it would be nice to not see. Since he's on a plethora of meds and supplements for his arthritis, his organs are definitely taking a beating, but without them he can't m...

Re: Beware internet pharmacy users!!

Misskiwi67 is totally right on this one. It's kinda like buying a car; you can get one from a private owner or a used-car lot, but the manufacturer will laugh at you when your transmission drops out and you cry "warranty." That being said, I've not seen too many problems with outside pharm...

Re: Procter & Gamble purchases Natura (EVO)

I have spoken to no less than four carriers of Natura products so far, and as a whole they are dropping the line if the deal goes through. They are already helping owners pick new diets for their pets and fielding a lot of questions and complaints from the public. One girl that nearly every phone ca...

Re: Procter & Gamble purchases Natura (EVO)

I called them last week when I heard of this. I've fed EVO & Innova for years, EVO since it first came out, and I'm really upset over this. The girl read me the exact same stuff they emailed. The thing that really pisses me off if that just in 2008 I sat in person with two head honchos from Natu...

Funny, "no guts no glory" is what I was muttering to myself just a little while ago as I made Ruadh's dinner. I didn't even catch the pun. lol blech...

Re: Gabapentin

I've not yet had a dog that didn't do well on Tramadol... so I can't help much there. If the Rimadyl isn't cutting it, have you tried Previcoxx? We have had several clients who have noticed it works better than Rimadyl for their dogs. It's not so much that the Rimadly wasn't cutting it, it was that...

Gabapentin

Who here has experience with this drug? Ruadh has been on it for his arthritis for nearly two months. I'm not sure I'm happy with it. It gorks him pretty hard, I had to switch his smaller dose with his Rimadyl to the evening because when I gave the larger dose at night he was too stoned to go up the...

Re: Tripe that won't make me vomit

Side note... you ARE the same lady who popped a puss cyst splashing your face and lived to tell it without running crying, yes? Yes, but I didn't stop to smell the cyst. Being trapped in my kitchen, there was no avoiding eau de tripe. I have incense lit in every room right now and I still feel faint.

Tripe that won't make me vomit

I just opened a can of tripe for the first time. I have a fairly strong constitution, but that did me in quite nicely. :yucky:

Does it come in any other fashion that touts the same benefits but also won't leave me gasping for fresh air at the back door? lol

The dog loved it.

Re: Lump on Sugar's leg ... Thoughts appreciated

Happy thoughts for Sugar Booger to have just grown her own friend! :peace: Ruadh has grown several; Bartholomew is on his back, Frederick the Literate is on his chest, and Bob is on his elbow. Bob is only a skin tag, hence the less formal name. Good call on going Monday, though, always best to find ...
