Re: Human Aggression, we have a big problem with our dog.

Just read the post about the decision to PTS. It is your personal decision, and if you feel that you have done all you could, then just know that we are not here to judge you, and that you always have a pit bull community to come back to when you have questions. Please don't take my previous two pos...

Re: Human Aggression, we have a big problem with our dog.

There is no way I'd keep a dog around who targeted a child that aggresively unprovoked. There is nothing a behaviorist could say to me that would make me comfortable having her around people ever again. Not worth it. How do you know whether the dog was provoked or unprovoked? Most "unprovoked&...

Re: Dog language, a guide/article/whatever that I wrote

Great article and nice pics. Although, I just have a very quick comment on a sentence: "But remember that dogs are simple animals, they don't have a logical sense, they don't comprehend that one thin relates to another the way we do, and they live in the moment." After reading a load of bo...

Agreed!

I think certain people's kids may need these, though...but that's a different thread altogether! :))

Re: Dogs and Feeding Fish

Acana is made by the same company that makes Orijen  From what I've read, I like the Acana but it's really hard to find in my area and I really don't want to pay shipping on dog food. You guys get the Canadian brands in the states too? That's kinda cool. I know that there are some border ...

Re: Peeing and not knowing about it?

Ahhh, so it is a result of spaying.

It isn't uncomfortable for the dog or anything of that sort, correct? Its not a big problem for me, just a little freaky when it happens and she doesn't even notice.

Thank you for the help everyone! I'll ask my vet about the meds.

Re: Dogs and Feeding Fish

that makes sense. I try to buy foods that are made in Canada, as the meat sources are local...at least that's what they say. I also pick higher goods.

Anyone heard of the new food, Acana?

It is similar to Origin and Wellness' Core.

Peeing and not knowing about it?

This has happened before. My dog is currently 8 years old. She is spayed, and occassionally, she will "drip". There have even been times where she has been sitting and a puddle of pee would form around her. It is quite clear and color and lacks much odor. I have read that this happens to s...

Dogs and Feeding Fish

Hey guys. I am currently working part time at a pet food store. I know a thing or two about dog nutrition. However, recently, I had a customer come in and literally argue me down (I wasn't really arguing, just disagreeing!), that fish is absolutely one of the worst things you can feed a dog. She cla...

Thank you for that advice. I will look into the grass squares. I hope I can get some here in Toronto at this time of year.

Skin Tag on Gums?

I brush my dog's teeth every second day. I noticed a few days ago that she has a skin tag on her gums, or at least that's exactly what it looks like. When I touch it, it doesn't seem to bother her, and I brush around it when I brush her teeth. It is the same color as part of her gums, which is a dar...

Re: Teaching Older Dog to Pee on Balcony?

Does she have a set spot in the yard/on her walks that she goes? I'd get her scent on a towel or something and put that on the balcony. I've tried that as well. I took her out on a walk and when she peed on the grass, I literally soaked the pee pad with her urine and put it back on the balcony. You...

Re: Teaching Older Dog to Pee on Balcony?

Perhaps I will give that a try.

If anyone has any further suggestions or experience with a similar situation, I would really appreciate some advice or tips :)
