Re: My dog wants to play with my cat...

So the one cat that will be moving with us, when we move in june, hates my dog. Alexis will always do the "play bow" and kind of put her paw up, like shes playing with a dog. But my cat will just sit there and hiss and paw her. I can tell alexis to sit, and lay down, and she will, but the...

Re: My dog wants to play with my cat...

humm maybe let the cat outside more? then they wont see eachother as much. :huh?: No! Sorry, no. I still don't understand why people think it's OK to let cats roam free when they think it's NOT ok to do the same for dogs. An indoor/outdoor cat has an average life span of three years. THREE years. T...

Re: Dog's Poop Has Red Jelly-Like Substance In It...

No, LOL. Not everyonw who lives in G'ville goes to UF. :nana: Did the vet test for anything? Did he test for Parvo, worms, coccidia or giarhdia? Or did he just assume? Not every dog with diarrhea has an infectious agent. When there is a history of stress (such as changing homes) its perfectly fine ...

Re: Dog's Poop Has Red Jelly-Like Substance In It...

Could be hookworms, or coccidia...I've seen pups with those two things have jelly like bloody stools. Not nearly as serious as parvo...though at his age, even if it were parvo, he's more likely than not to make a full recovery.

Re: OMG poor pups

Beware anything that has "animal fat" or "animal by products".

No telling what "animal" may be used. I have heard that some animal shelters have contracts with some pet food manufacturers...and it's not because the shelter animals need to eat...if you catch my drift.

Re: OMG! He ate chocolate!

My obedienece school regularly preached that chocolate stays in their system so if you give one ounce to them today and another ounce to them in thee onths etc. etc. that the one ounce you give them 5 years from now could kill them and that all dogs have different levels that they can handle. But I...

Re: incase of toads

oh crap i didnt know that. I have a pond in my backyard with about 5 toads in it. So do i have to worry about him catching a toad now? Probably not really. I mean, there are very few toads whose poison is deadly, or even particularly potent. Also, toads do not live in water, they only go to water i...

Re: What are we in for?

I too have read that, about some Pit Bulls becoming more dog-aggressive with maturity. As far as I know (and I'm definitely no expert), we can't really predict which dogs will have a stronger genetic predisposition to dog-on-dog violence, but good socialization during puppyhood may, or may not, mit...

Re: What are we in for?

The only thing I ask of you is that before you make a final decision on whether or not you keep her, ask yourself this... "If Jasmine were to one day become so dog aggressive/reactive that she could not EVER have contact with my other dogs, would I still be willing to keep her?" If your an...

A perfect example of why I say the breed's biggest enemy is it's owners.

The "it's all how you raise them" crowd.

Well, the person has been a member since early January, and only had a handful of posts. It's safe to say she isn't glued to her computer like many of you are. (not me, of course, I have a life, but I see some of you on here all the time! ;) ) Well...Amie, If you see us in here "all the time&q...
